Differentiation and Maturation Effect of All-trans Retinoic Acid on Cultured Fetal RPE and Stem Cell-Derived RPE Cells for Cell-Based Therapy
CONCLUSIONS: Differences in protein and gene expression among three RPE types exist. ATRA can increase RPE markers, CRPs gene expression in fRPE and stem cell-derived RPE. These can be used to guide the standard of screening RPE cells for clinical translational cell therapy.PMID:35763026 | DOI:10.1080/02713683.2022.2079144

Hypoxia-induced complement dysregulation is associated with microvascular impairments in mouse tracheal transplants
Complement Regulatory Proteins (CRPs), especially CD55 primarily negate complement factor 3-mediated injuries and maintain tissue homeostasis during complement cascade activation. Complement activation and reg...

Management of complex regional pain syndrome.
Abstract Complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) is a relatively rare, chronic, and debilitating condition that significantly impacts the patient's quality of life. There is an overall paucity of literature addressing the management of CRPS in immunocompromised patients. We define features of CRPS, outline its treatment options, and describe a course of CRPS management for a 35-year-old patient who had heart transplantation requiring immunosuppressive medications. Stellate ganglion pulsed radiofrequency ablation for stretch induced complex regional pain syndrome type II
Shiv Pratap Singh Rana, Mary Abraham, Varun Gupta, Shubhashish Biswas, Manish MardaSaudi Journal of Anaesthesia 2015 9(4):470-473Complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) following injury or nerve damage, as its name signifies, is a challenging entity, and its successful management requires a multidisciplinary approach. It not only manifests as severe pain, but also gives rise to functional disability, lack of sleep, lack of enjoyment of life and poor quality of life. Various pain interventional techniques have been described in the literature for the management of CRPS ranging from sympathetic blocks to spinal cord stimulator...

Time-to-Referral, Use, and Efficacy of Cardiac Rehabilitation After Heart Transplantation
Conclusion: There is a lengthy delay in time from HT to CRP referral, though once referred, gain significant benefit in functional capacity. The appropriateness of this wait needs to be elucidated; however, it appears that longer wait times are associated with adverse effects on body composition.

Role of Complement Activation in Obliterative Bronchiolitis Post-Lung Transplantation.
Abstract Obliterative bronchiolitis (OB) post-lung transplantation involves IL-17-regulated autoimmunity to type V collagen and alloimmunity, which could be enhanced by complement activation. However, the specific role of complement activation in lung allograft pathology, IL-17 production, and OB is unknown. The current study examines the role of complement activation in OB. Complement-regulatory protein (CRP) (CD55, CD46, complement receptor 1-related protein y/CD46) expression was downregulated in human and murine OB; and C3a, a marker of complement activation, was upregulated locally. IL-17 differentially suppr...
