Incidence and root causes of surgery cancellations at an academic medical center in Iran: a retrospective cohort study on 29,978 elective surgical cases
CONCLUSIONS: According to this study, patients' unsuitability for surgery, non-compliance with instructions, lack of time, and problems with equipment/supplies are the main reasons for canceling surgery. Proper preoperative assessment and preparation of patients and improved communication between medical teams and patients reduce the cancellation of booked surgeries.PMID:37674216 | PMC:PMC10481593 | DOI:10.1186/s13037-023-00377-6

"Let's Call a Spade a Spade. My Barrier is Being a Black Student": Challenges for Black Undergraduate Nursing Students in a Western Canadian Province
CONCLUSIONS: The study findings underscore the need for research to better define nursing program conditions that nurture safe, learning-centred environments for Black students.
