Community Participation, Supports and Barriers of Adolescents with and without Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder
Conclusion: Adolescents with ADHD participate less frequently and are less involved in socializing with peers in the community. Almost half of all ADHD adolescents never participate in community events. It was seen that cognitive difficulties, sensory qualities, and safety may prevent adolescents with ADHD from socializing with peers in the community.PMID:37661765 | DOI:10.1080/01942638.2023.2253899

Effects of Comprehensive Outpatient Cardiac Rehabilitation on Exercise Capacity, Functional Status, and Quality of Life in People with Heart Failure: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
CONCLUSION: Results of this study suggest that comprehensive outpatient cardiac rehabilitation is associated with significantly better clinical outcomes than single-component exercise programs in cardiac rehabilitation settings, multicomponent exercise in non-cardiac rehabilitation settings, or no exercise.IMPACT: Heart failure is significantly associated with an increased risk of poor exercise tolerance. Despite the proven benefit of cardiac rehabilitation on exercise tolerance and physical activities from individual randomized clinical trials, questions regarding its impact on clinical outcomes such as exercise capacity,...

Effectiveness of Functional or Aerobic Exercise Combined with Breathing Techniques in Telerehabilitation for Patients with Long COVID: A Randomized Controlled Trial
CONCLUSIONS: Both telerehabilitation exercise modalities are effective at improving stress symptoms and quality of life in patients with long COVID-19. For improving fatigue and functional performance, functional exercise shows more promising results.IMPACT: Functional exercise or aerobic exercise may be recommended depending on patients' symptoms, and both may improve quality of life and stress symptoms in patients with long COVID-19. Telerehabilitation may be an optimal intervention modality for the prescription of physical exercise in patients with long COVID-19.PMID:37658773 | DOI:10.1093/ptj/pzad118

Post-COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit Acquired Weakness Compromises Long-Term Functional Status
CONCLUSIONS: In patients surviving an ICU stay due to COVID-19, decreased functional independence persists even 6 months after discharge, and patients with ICUAW have worse outcomes.IMPACT: Patients who survive ICU stays due to COVID-19 continue to have greater functional dependence even 6 months after ICU discharge.PMID:37658771 | DOI:10.1093/ptj/pzad117

Effect of Active Motor Learning Interventions on Gross Motor Function and Mobility in Children Aged 2 to 6 Years With Bilateral Cerebral Palsy: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis
CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS FOR CLINICAL PRACTICE: There are limited active intervention studies targeting gross motor function for young children with bilateral cerebral palsy. The authors recommend consideration of the clinical good practice guidelines, dosage parameters, and improved reporting methods when implementing active motor learning interventions targeting gross motor function and mobility for children with cerebral palsy.PMID:37656984 | DOI:10.1097/PEP.0000000000001041

Technical Factors That May Influence mHealth Adherence in Children With Chronic Pulmonary Diseases: Scoping Review
CONCLUSIONS: The design of mHealth applications (apps) should be done according to the needs of pediatric patients. This may mitigate any barriers and potentially foster adherence to the use of the apps.WHAT THIS ADDS TO THE EVIDENCE: Six major technical themes may influence adherence to NPhT in children with chronic respiratory diseases.Video Abstract: Supplemental digital content available at http://links.lww.com/PPT/A487.PMID:37656982 | DOI:10.1097/PEP.0000000000001039
