Machine-Learning-Aided Prediction of Brain Metastases Development in Non-Small-Cell Lung Cancers
CONCLUSION: Analysis of the importance of input features suggests that the models are learning the relevant relationships between clinical features/development of BM. A higher number of samples is to be prioritized to improve performance. Employed prospectively at initial diagnosis, such models can help select high-risk subgroups for surveillance brain MRI.PMID:37689579 | DOI:10.1016/j.cllc.2023.08.002

Delayed esophageal anastomotic complication and ramucirumab therapy: A case report
In conclusion, this is the only known report of delayed esophageal anastomotic complication associated with ramuciru mab. VEGF inhibitor therapies such as bevacizumab have been associated with late (greater than 3 months postoperative) colorectal anastomotic complications including fistulas and leaks. Risk factors that have been associated are perioperative radiotherapy and history of early postoperative leak. The se findings raise concern whether VEGF inhibitor therapy should be used in post-esophagectomy patients with recurrence if these rare but catastrophic events are likely to be terminal.

Outcomes of Surgery for Metachronous Second Primary Non-small Cell Lung Cancer
CONCLUSION: Second anatomical resections provide good long-term outcomes and have been shown to provide better disease-free survival compared to non-anatomical resections in properly selected patients.PMID:37612175 | DOI:10.1016/j.arbres.2023.07.027

Pneumovaginoscopy-assisted radical hysterectomy for early-stage cervical cancer: a novel bidirectional approach for tumor spillage prevention and R0 resection
CONCLUSION: PVRH is a new fascia-oriented and nerve-sparing surgery for early-stage cervical cancer. Further, it has favorable operative outcomes and good prognoses, similar to those of adjacent pelvic surgery such as trans-anal total mesorectal excision and radical prostatectomy.PMID:37477103 | DOI:10.3802/jgo.2023.34.e80
