MiR-601-induced BMSCs senescence accelerates steroid-induced osteonecrosis of the femoral head progression by targeting SIRT1
CONCLUSIONS: Considering the role of BMSCs aging in the progression of SONFH, this provides a new idea for the prevention and treatment of SONFH.PMID:37597099 | DOI:10.1007/s00018-023-04903-8

Anticancer potentials of metformin loaded coconut oil nanoemulsion on MCF-7, HepG2 and HCT-116 cell lines
Artif Cells Nanomed Biotechnol. 2023 Dec;51(1):419-427. doi: 10.1080/21691401.2023.2246145.ABSTRACTIn order to load metformin in a nano formula and evaluate the produced nano form towards cancer cells, metformin was loaded on natural carrier coconut oil. The formed metformin-loaded coconut oil nanoemulsion was characterized by Zeta potential, particle size, drug content, drug release, and drug stability. The formed nanoemulsion was evaluated towards MCF-7, HepG2, and HCT-116 cell lines. Cell cycle analysis and apoptosis mechanism were studied. The nanoemulsion was created using deionized water, 1.5% Span 20, 1.5% Tween 80,...

In this study, cultured adipose-derived stem cells (ASCs) were derived from subcutaneous white adipose tissue isolated from mice fed a normal diet. We performed senescence-associated-β-galactosidase (SA-β-gal) staining, real-time PCR, and Western blot to evaluate the levels related to cellular senescence markers. The mRNA expression levels of senescence markers were significantly increased in the later passages of ASCs. We show that light activation reduced the expression of senescent genes, and SA-β-Gal in all cells at passages. Moreover, the light-activated ASCs-derived exosomes decrease the expression of senes...

In this study, we examined the average telomere length and telomerase activity, as well as the formation of telomere associated foci (TAFs) and the mRNA expression levels of the shelterin components in cultured primary cells of Spalax, a long-lived, hypoxia-tolerant, and cancer-resistant blind mole-rat species. We showed that with cell passages, Spalax fibroblasts demonstrated significant shortening in telomere length, similar to rat cells, and in line with the processes observed earlier in tissues. We also demonstrated that the average telomere length in Spalax fibroblasts was significantly higher than the average ...

Metformin alleviates the cognitive impairment induced by benzoapyrene via glucolipid metabolism regulated by FTO/FoxO6 pathway in mice
In this study, we assessed the intervention effect of metformin (MET) on cognitive dysfunction in mice induced by B[a]P from the perspective of glucolipid metabolism. Forty-two male healthy ICR mice were randomly categorized into 6 groups and were gavaged with B[a]P (0, 2.5, 5, or 10 mg/kg), 45 times for 90 days. The controls were gavaged with edible peanut oil, and the intervention groups were co-treated with B[a]P (10 mg/kg) and MET (200 or 300 mg/kg). We assessed the cognitive function of mice, observed the pathomorphological and ultrastructural changes, and detected neuronal apoptosis and glucolipid metabolism. Results...

JianPi-QingHua formula attenuates nonalcoholic fatty liver disease by regulating the AMPK/SIRT1/NF- κB pathway in high-fat-diet-fed C57BL/6 mice
CONCLUSIONS: These findings indicate that JPQH supplementation protected against HFD-induced NAFLD by regulating SIRT1/AMPK/NF-κB pathway, which provides a theoretical basis for the clinical treatment of patients with NAFLD.PMID:37038833 | DOI:10.1080/13880209.2023.2188549
