A nomogram based on the preoperative neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio to distinguish sarcomatoid renal cell carcinoma from clear cell renal cell carcinoma
ConclusionNLR is a potential indicator for preoperative differentiation of SRCC and CCRCC, and the predictive model constructed based on NLR has a good predictive ability. The new model could provide suggestions for the early identification of SRCC.

Emergency management of colon adenocarcinoma in an adolescent female: A rare case report
Incisional biopsy of the tumor, peritoneal deposits, and excised specimen. Key Clinical MessageColorectal carcinoma (CRC) should be suspected in pediatric patients with a bowel obstruction in an emergency setting. Evidence-based surgical management with chemotherapy is crucial to prevent adverse outcomes.AbstractCRC should be suspected in pediatric patients presenting to the emergency with unspecified abdominal pain. Integration of palliative care in the management of oral squamous cell carcinoma
Bioinformation. 2023 Jan 31;19(1):1-4. doi: 10.6026/97320630019001. eCollection 2023.ABSTRACTOral Squamous cell Cancers (OSCC) is strongly associated with tobacco consumption. We here in present a case study of a OSCC patient who refused standard oncological care (SOC), to highlight the importance of integrating palliative care (PC) for improved patient outcomes. A 61 years male patient, with history of chewing tobacco for more than 20 years and diagnosed to have OSCC for 1.5 years presented with severe anaemia and a cauliflower-like growth (12 x 10 cm) in the left oral cavity and cheek with greenish-yellow discharge. Pus ...

A Very Unusual Presentation of Miliary Tuberculosis and Osteomyelitis as an Incidental Finding of Musculoskeletal Pain
Cureus. 2023 Aug 27;15(8):e44207. doi: 10.7759/cureus.44207. eCollection 2023 Aug.ABSTRACTTuberculosis (TB) is a highly infectious disease that takes the primary or latent route. In primary TB, the patient often presents with constitutional symptoms such as cough, fever, weight loss, and hemoptysis. This 83-year-old patient was sent to the emergency department (ED) by her primary care physician after abnormal imaging for acute back and neck pain. Imaging revealed pulmonary TB with possible tuberculosis osteomyelitis versus metastatic carcinoma to the cervical vertebrae. The case's unique presentation gives light to the nee...

A pancreatic adenocarcinoma mimicking hepatoid carcinoma of uncertain histogenesis: A case report and literature review
Oncol Lett. 2023 Aug 28;26(4):442. doi: 10.3892/ol.2023.14029. eCollection 2023 Oct.ABSTRACTIn rare cases, metastatic adenocarcinomas of different origin may exhibit the features of hepatoid carcinoma (HC), a rare malignant epithelial tumor, most commonly occurring in the ovaries and stomach, as well as in the pancreas and biliary ducts. A case of a 72-year-old female patient who developed a highly aggressive, poorly differentiated pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma with peritoneal carcinomatosis, demonstrating hepatoid differentiation upon conventional hematoxylin and eosin staining is reported in the present study. The pat...
