Urgent Juxtarenal Aortic Aneurysm Repair With Modified Off-the-shelf Endograft to Preserve Intercostal Arteries and Branch Incorporation by Transfemoral Access
CONCLUSION: t-Branch-modified endograft to limit aortic coverage is an alternative option in urgent cases to diminish the risk of spinal cord injury, and association of steerable sheaths with branch incorporation is leading complex aortic repairs to an even less invasive procedure.CLINICAL IMPACT: This paper highlights the possibility of performing complex endovascular aortic repair in an urgent setting with modification of an off-the-shelf multi branched endograft limiting intercostal arteries coverage, thereby diminishing the risk of spinal cord ischemia. Patient Experiences With Hand Surgery in the Office Versus Ambulatory Surgery Center
Conclusions Though costs and time off of work differed between the two groups due to the different procedures in either setting, patient satisfaction metrics were comparable. Metalloproteinase-2 in failed back surgery syndrome caused by epidural fibrosis: can it play a role in persistent pain?
ConclusionResults indicate the presence of a contribution of MMP-2 and TIMP-2 in DH and FBSS. Unchanged activity of MMP-2 can indicate an insufficiency in the MMP-2 repair system in both diseases. Lower MMP-2 expression and TIMP-2 concentration in the FBSS group can reflect the chronicity of the process.

Transinguinal preperitoneal (TIPP) versus Lichtenstein for inguinal hernia repair: a systematic review and meta-analysis
ConclusionTIPP may be a valuable technique for inguinal hernias. It was associated with lower chronic pain, and paresthesia when compared to Lichtenstein technique. Cardiac Tamponade Secondary to Hemorrhagic Pericardial Effusion: A Complication of STEMI
Conclusion: The differential for hemodynamic compromise in a patient with STEMI is broad, but quickly distinguishing pump failure from other life-threatening causes of shock is imperative to dictate time-sensitive management decisions. The presence of a hemorrhagic pericardial effusion in the setting of STEMI is a surrogate marker for a severe infarct and can help the bedside physician determine whether a patient will be better served in the catheterization lab for revascularization or in the operating room for surgical repair.PMID:37711482 | PMC:PMC10498953 | DOI:10.31486/toj.23.0023
