Risk factors for prolonged recovery from concussion in young patients
CONCLUSION: Overall, risk factors for prolonged recovery differ somewhat from risk factors for extended recovery. For patients who present to clinic with concussion, mental health is an important consideration which may impact the timeline for symptom recovery.PMID:36104148 | DOI:10.1136/bjsports-2022-105598

Anterior Cruciate Ligament Injuries in Adolescents With Open Physis: Effect of Recurrent Injury and Surgical Delay on Meniscal and Cartilage Injuries
Conclusion: This is the first study to measure the incidence of ACL injuries in a skeletally immature population. For patients undergoing ACL reconstruction, an increased number of significant encounters was statistically significantly associated with combined meniscal and cartilage injuries, while increased time from injury to surgery was not significantly associated with additional injuries. In addition, one-third of the patients continued nonoperative treatment without symptoms that warranted surgical interventions during the follow-up period.

A Family Medicine Health Technology Strategy for Achieving the Triple Aim for US Health Care.
Abstract BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: Health information technology (health IT) and health technology, more broadly, offer tremendous promise for connecting, synthesizing, and sharing information critical to improving health care delivery, reducing health system costs, and achieving personal and community health. While efforts to spur adoption of electronic health records (EHRs) among US practices and hospitals have been highly successful, aspirations for effective data exchanges and translation of data into measureable improvements in health outcomes remain largely unrealized. There are shining examples of health e...

Cognitive IT-systems for big data analysis in medicine.
CONCLUSIONS: We developed a prototype of cognitive IT system for drug prescription with the potential to analyze automatically the information about drugs effectiveness and safety on the basis of clinical practice experience and scientific data according to evidence levels and patients' personal characteristics. The system is based on the structured semantic network of medical knowledge from UMKB. PMID: 26639685 [PubMed - in process]

Patients Receiving Integrative Medicine Effectiveness Registry (PRIMIER) of the BraveNet Practice-Based Research Network: Outcomes of the PRIMIER Cohort
CONCLUSIONS: PRIMIER is the largest study to assess the real-world effectiveness of integrative medicine. Results indicate a statistical and clinical improvement across all measures at 12 months. Future research could explore whether dosing, timing or combinations of integrative medicine interventions have differential impacts on quality of life.PMID:36435299 | DOI:10.1016/j.ctim.2022.102904
