Nasopharyngeal Metastasis from Breast Carcinoma: A Case Report and a Review of the Literature
We report the case of a 50-year-old woman with a history of a confirmed breast carcinoma under chemotherapy who presented to our department with a unilateral hearing loss and tinnitus. Nasal endoscopy revealed a small bulging mass at the posterior wall of the nasopharynx. The biopsy of the lesion showed an infiltration of the nasopharyngeal mucosa by a mammary adenocarcinoma that was positive for estrogen and progesterone receptors and negative for human epidermal growth factor receptor 2. Computed tomography scan revealed a thickening of the nasopharyngeal mucosa, a pleural and pericardial effusion and diffused secondary ...

Epithelial –myoepithelial carcinoma of the nasopharynx: A case report and review of the literature
ConclusionTo the best of our knowledge, this is the third reported case of EMCa in the nasopharynx and the only case of EMCa in the nasopharynx treated with CCRT, and a partial response was achieved. Therefore, to improve the quality of life and prognosis of patients with unresectable tumors, we believe that CCRT is a suitable option. Further clinical observations are required to elucidate the pathophysiology and prognosis of EMCa.

High rate of bilaterality in internal auditory canal metastases
Conclusions In cases of internal auditory canal metastasis, clinicians should carefully assess for not only contralateral disease but also additional metastatic disease of the central nervous system. Rapid-onset hearing loss, tinnitus, vertigo, or facial palsy should raise suspicion for internal auditory canal metastasis, particularly in patients with a known oncologic history.

Metastatic breast carcinoma presenting as unilateral pulsatile tinnitus: A case report.
We describe the case of a 63-year-old woman presenting with unilateral subjective pulsatile tinnitus and a middle ear mass visible on otoscopy. Her background included the diagnosis of idiopathic unilateral vagal and hypoglossal nerve palsies 4 years previously, with normal magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Repeat MRI and computed tomography imaging were consistent with metastatic breast carcinoma. This case raises important questions about imaging protocols and the role of serial scanning in patients at high risk of metastatic disease. PMID: 25651358 [PubMed - in process]

ANNA-2 Autoantibody Syndrome Associated with Remote Cervical Carcinoma and Good Response to Immunomodulatory Therapy (P01.110)
CONCLUSIONS: We present a rare patient in whom a clinical condition characterized by encephalopathy, diffuse myoclonus, ataxia and leg rigidity associated with high ANNA-2 titers developed 15 years after hysterectomy for cervical cancer. Extensive work up over 5 years showed no evidence for additional neoplasm. Aggressive medical treatment resulted in marked improvement of symptoms.Disclosure: Dr. Machado has nothing to disclose.
