Intravitreal bevacizumab improves trabeculectomy survival at 12 months: the bevacizumab in trabeculectomy study-a randomised clinical trial
CONCLUSION: Bevacizumab given as a single intravitreal dose during trabeculectomy with MMC resulted in improved surgical success as 12 months. Furthermore, bevacizumab was associated with a significant reduction in the need for additional medication or further surgery to achieve target IOP. Bevacizumab was also associated with larger blebs that were less inflamed and required fewer subsequent interventions.TRIAL REGISTRATION NUMBER: ACTRN12614000375651.PMID:37541768 | DOI:10.1136/bjo-2023-323526

Handheld chromatic pupillometry can reliably detect functional glaucomatous damage in eyes with high myopia
CONCLUSION: PLRs to ramping-up light stimuli are unaltered in highly myopic eyes without other diagnosed ocular conditions. Conversely, HCP can distinguish glaucomatous functional loss in eyes with HM and can be a useful tool to detect/confirm the presence of glaucoma in patients with HM.PMID:37524446 | DOI:10.1136/bjo-2023-323878

Analysis of deep optic nerve head structures with spectral domain and swept-source optical coherence tomography
CONCLUSION: Overall, both SS-OCT and SD-OCT showed statistically equivalent visualisation of ONH structures, however, SS-OCT tended to have higher visualisation rates.PMID:37507129 | DOI:10.1136/bjo-2023-323222
