Ocular findings in patients with acquired ATTRv amyloidosis following domino liver transplantation
ConclusionWhile cases of choroidal amyloid angiopathy were observed, serious amyloidosis-related ocular complications such as vitreous opacity or secondary glaucoma did not occur even in the long term after domino liver transplantation.

Computational study of the mechanical behavior of the astrocyte network and axonal compartments in the mouse optic nerve head
The objective of this study was to develop a computational modeling method to estimate the IOP-induced strains and stresses in the axonal compartments in the mouse astrocytic lamina (AL) of the ONH, and to investigate the effect of the structural features on the mechanical behavior. We developed experimentally informed finite element (FE) models of six mouse ALs to investigate the effect of structure on the strain responses of the astrocyte network and axonal compartments to pressure elevation. The specimen-specific geometries of the FE models were reconstructed from confocal fluorescent images of cryosections of the mouse...

Effect of myopia on the progression of normal tension glaucoma
by Chun-Mei Hsueh, Jong-Shiuan Yeh, Jau-Der Ho PurposeIdentify risk factors of progression in treated normal-tension glaucoma (NTG) in highly myopic and non-highly myopic eyes. MethodsThis retrospective, observational case series study included 42 highly myopic glaucoma (HMG,

Bleb geometry and morphology after Preserflo Microshunt surgery: Risk factors for surgical failure
by Marta Ibarz Barber á, Jose Luis Hernández-Verdejo, Jean Bragard, Laura Morales-Fernández, Lola Rodríguez-Carrillo, Fátima Martínez Galdón, Pedro Tañá, Miguel A. Teus PurposeTo investigate the possible risk factors for treatment failure in patients who had undergone Preserflo Microshunt (PMS) implantation, using anterior-segment optical coherence tomography (AS-OCT) to analyze the internal structures of the bleb. MethodsThe PMS blebs of 54 patients were evaluated with AS-OCT. A mathematical model was used to calculate the total filtering surface of the episcleral fluid cavity (EFC) and the hydraulic conductivity...

Severe mental illness and ophthalmic health: A linked administrative data study
ConclusionOur study provides new evidence on ophthalmic health inequalities associated with SMI. While the study has immediate relevance to its NI context, we believe it is generalizable to wider UK health concerns. We emphasize the need for more research of this type, using large linkable electronic administrative databases to further our understanding of both health inequalities associated with SMI and poor eye health, and health outcomes in general.
