Efficacy of Entecavir Switching Therapy in Chronic Hepatitis B Patients with Clevudine-induced Myopathy.
Conclusions: In chronic hepatitis B patients experiencing clevudine-induced myopathy, switching to entecavir 0.5 mg per day showed a resolution of myopathy and adequate viral suppression. (Korean J Gastroenterol 2013;61:30-36). PMID: 23354347 [PubMed - in process]

Myopathy as a Cause of Camptocormia: A Prospective Study (P3.300)
CONCLUSIONS: In our study, we found an underlying myopathy in 40% of patients with isolated camptocormia, including POLG1- and RRM2B-related mitochondrial myopathy, FSHD, inflammatory myopathy, and MFM. Once ALS, MG and parkinsonism have been excluded, muscle biopsy should be systematically performed in patients with isolated camptocormia.Disclosure: Dr. Chanson has nothing to disclose. Risk of Febuxostat-Associated Myopathy in Patients with CKD.
CONCLUSIONS: Patients with severely reduced eGFR had higher risk of myopathy with treatment of febuxostat. Regular monitoring of creatine kinase level is suggested for early detection of febuxostat-associated myopathy, particularly in patients with CKD. PMID: 28302902 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Independent risk factors for simvastatin-related myopathy and relevance to different types of muscle symptom
ConclusionsThe absolute risk of simvastatin-related myopathy is low, but individuals at higher risk can be identified to help guide patient management. The lack of association of the myopathy risk score with other muscle symptoms reinforces randomized placebo-controlled evidence that statins do not cause the vast majority of reported muscle symptoms.

Diagnostic measures for patients with systemic sclerosis-associated myopathy
CONCLUSIONS: We confirmed previously described clinic-serological characteristics of SSc-myopathy patients. Our study suggests that autoantibody profile and CK levels may be helpful in establishing the diagnosis of SSc-myopathy. Whole-body MRI might be more accurate to capture the disease extent than MRI of selected muscle groups. Functional muscle tests validated for primary myositis did not perform well for the assessment of muscle function in patients with SSc-myopathy. Both, potential confounders such as skin, joint, and cardiovascular involvement as well as lack of sensitivity might have negatively affected the test p...

Statin Induced Myopathy Among Patients Attending the National Center for Diabetes, endocrinology, & amp; genetics
CONCLUSIONS: The overall incidence of myopathy in patients taking statins was 27.8%. Myopathy was directly related to dose and type of statin used. The use of Fluvastatin XL 80 mg and Rosuvastatin 10 mg showed less incidence of myopathy compared with other statins.PMID:35145672 | PMC:PMC8818528 | DOI:10.1016/j.amsu.2022.103304
