Rythmology activity in France and consequences of new thresholds approvals
CONCLUSIONS: This work showed that immediat and systematic application of new threshold could be threatening for 1/4 of A center and 1/5 of B or C center. The priority will be to reinforce existing centres before allowing new centres to perform arrhythmias management activity in France.PMID:37657403 | DOI:10.1016/j.ancard.2023.101636

The effects of taxation on the individual consumption of sugar-sweetened beverages
Econ Hum Biol. 2023 Aug 9;51:101277. doi: 10.1016/j.ehb.2023.101277. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTTo assess the impact of taxation on the consumption of sugar-sweetened beverages (SSBs) most economic studies using household data consider the average consumer. Individual consumption is, however, very heterogeneous. In this paper, we propose a three-step methodology to evaluate the impact of SSB taxation on individual consumption. First, we use a disaggregation method to recover individual consumption from observed household consumption. Second, we estimate the demand for different categories of households. Finally, we simu...

Development of antibiotic resistance in animals not receiving antibiotic therapy
C R Biol. 2023 Aug 31. doi: 10.5802/crbiol.116. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThe fight against antibiotic resistance in the animal sector over the last ten years in France (Ecoantibio plans) has largely focused on reducing the veterinary use of antibiotics. However, antibiotic resistance in an animal is not necessarily due to antibiotic therapy, but can also result from the transmission of resistant bacteria or resistance plasmids. Several examples illustrate the importance of this transmission of antibiotic resistance in the animal world, which are detailed in this communication. Like in human medicine, this nosocomial t...

Clinical phenotypes and quality of life to define post-COVID-19 syndrome: a cluster analysis of the multinational, prospective ORCHESTRA cohort
EClinicalMedicine. 2023 Jul 21;62:102107. doi: 10.1016/j.eclinm.2023.102107. eCollection 2023 Aug.ABSTRACTBACKGROUND: Lack of specific definitions of clinical characteristics, disease severity, and risk and preventive factors of post-COVID-19 syndrome (PCS) severely impacts research and discovery of new preventive and therapeutics drugs.METHODS: This prospective multicenter cohort study was conducted from February 2020 to June 2022 in 5 countries, enrolling SARS-CoV-2 out- and in-patients followed at 3-, 6-, and 12-month from diagnosis, with assessment of clinical and biochemical features, antibody (Ab) response, Variant o...

Deciphering the evolution of the temporal and geographic distribution of French Mycobacterium bovis genotypes using a high throughput SNP-targeted amplicon sequencing method
This study allowed classifying 618 different genotypic profiles (combination of a spoligotype and 8 loci-MIRU-VNTR profiles) into the nine previously identified clusters. A global analysis of the entire collection of the National Reference Laboratory has made it possible to represent the evolution of clonal complexes and clusters in time and space for better assessing epidemiological changes of bovine tuberculosis in France.PMID:37657678 | DOI:10.1016/j.meegid.2023.105497
