Link between the referring physician and breast and cervical cancers screening: a cross-sectional study in France
CONCLUSIONS: Lower rates of gynaecological screening among women without an RP compared to those with an RP may partly reflect a specific behaviour pattern in women less adherent to the health care system. However, this result also shows the importance of the RP, who assumes the key role of relaying public health information in a more personalised and adapted way.PMID:37644404 | PMC:PMC10464303 | DOI:10.1186/s12875-023-02122-5

Self-reported barriers to screening breast MRI among women at high risk for breast cancer
CONCLUSIONS: High-risk women reported low uptake of screening breast MRI, indicating a gap in guideline-concordant care. Breast cancer knowledge and screening-supportive social norms are two key areas to target in future interventions. Data were collected during the COVID-19 pandemic and generalizability of results is unclear. Future studies with larger, more heterogeneous samples are needed to replicate these findings.PMID:37640965 | DOI:10.1007/s10549-023-07085-w

Disparities in Survival of Hematologic Malignancies in the Context of Social Determinants of Health: A Systematic Review
Blood Adv. 2023 Aug 28:bloodadvances.2023010690. doi: 10.1182/bloodadvances.2023010690. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTSocial Determinants of Health (SDH) have been reported as relevant factors responsible for health inequity. We sought to assess clinical data from observational studies evaluating the impact of SDH on the outcomes of patients with hematologic malignancies. Thus, we performed a systematic review in 6 databases on September 1, 2021, in which paired reviewers independently screened studies and included data from 41 studies. We assessed the risk of bias by the Joanna Briggs Institute appraisal tools and analyze...
