Comparison of the efficacy and safety of third-line treatments for metastatic colorectal cancer: a systematic review and network meta-analysis
ConclusionTAS-102, fruquintinib, TAS-102 plus bevacizumab, the regorafenib standard dose regimen (regorafenib), and the regorafenib dose-escalation regimen (regorafenib 80+) all demonstrated improved OS and PFS compared to BSC in mCRC patients. However, TAS-102 plus bevacizumab may be the optimal choice for third-line treatment in mCRC patients.Systematic review registrationhttps://www.crd.york.ac.uk/prospero/display_record.php, CRD42023434929.

Reirradiation versus systemic therapy versus combination therapy for recurrent high-grade glioma: a systematic review and meta-analysis of survival and toxicity
ConclusionsCombination therapy may improve OS and PFS with acceptable toxicities in patients with rHGG compared to reRT or systemic therapy alone. Particularly, combining bevacizumab with reRT prophylactically reduces radionecrosis.Registration: CRD42022291741.

Effect of transversus abdominis plane block on postoperative outcomes in gynecologic oncology patients managed on an Enhanced Recovery After Surgery pathway
CONCLUSIONS: Surgeon-administered TAP blocks were associated with decreased length of stay and post-operative opioid use in patients not receiving scheduled NSAIDs. This decrease in opioid use was not associated with any increase in average or maximum pain scores.PMID:37729808 | DOI:10.1016/j.ygyno.2023.09.003

Tumor-infiltrating normal B cells revealed by immunoglobulin repertoire clonotype analysis are highly prognostic and crucial for antitumor immune responses in DLBCL
CONCLUSIONS: TIL-B frequency is a significant prognostic factor in DLBCL and plays a crucial role in antitumor immune responses. This study provides novel insights into the prognostic determinants in DLBCL and TIL-B functions with important therapeutic implications.PMID:37728879 | DOI:10.1158/1078-0432.CCR-23-1554

Extraction of interoperable data from healthcare documents by identifying Common Data Elements: an analysis of Radiation Therapy Planning CT Physician Order Entry records
CONCLUSION: Structured and interoperable documentation of medical information can be achieved using common data elements. Our analysis showed that a lot of information recorded with healthcare documents can be presented with this approach. Yet, in the analyzed cohort of planning CT order entries, only a few common data elements were shared among the majority of documents. A common vocabulary and consensus upon relevant information is required to promote interoperability and standardization.PMID:37729894 | DOI:10.1159/000534204

Outcomes of patients with Child-Pugh B and unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma undergoing first-line systemic treatment with sorafenib, lenvatinib, or atezolizumab plus bevacizumab
CONCLUSION: Determining the hepatic reserve of patients with unresectable HCC might be useful for identifying patents suitable for systemic treatment for HCC. Atezo + Bev might prolong the PFS of patients with a Child-Pugh score of 7.PMID:37729889 | DOI:10.1159/000533859
