Neuronavigation-guided endoscopy for intraventricular tumors in adult patients without hydrocephalus.
CONCLUSIONS: The presence of hydrocephalus is not necessary to perform endoscopic surgery. However, in each case it should be preceded by a thorough analysis of the feasibility of the endoscopic procedure and should be supported by a neuronavigation system. PMID: 27829944 [PubMed - in process]

A Hypothesis of Traumatic Subdural Effusion Associated With Communicating Hydrocephalus in Infants and Its Management
We report a case with both traumatic subdural effusion (TSE) and associated hydrocephalus. A collapse of the sinuses is known to be present in some infants with external hydrocephalus, but collapsed sinuses have not been previously described in patients with TSE and associated hydrocephalus. Ventriculo-gallbladder shunt: An alternative for the treatment of hydrocephalus.
CONCLUSIONS: Drainage alternatives may be needed in 5% of patients with valvular shunt dysfunction. The ventriculo-gallbladder is a good and viable option because it has an absorptive capacity of 1500cc liquid daily, besides being an excellent drainage through the bile duct. Patients exposed to diagnostic head and neck radiation for the management of shunted hydrocephalus have a significant risk of developing thyroid nodules
Conclusion Patients with shunted hydrocephalus are exposed to substantial head and neck radiation from diagnostic imaging and have a higher incidence of thyroid nodules detected by ultrasonography. These patients should be provided ongoing surveillance for detection of thyroid nodules and the possibility of malignancy.

Neurosurgical management of hydrocephalus by a general surgeon in an extremely low resource setting: initial experience in North Kivu province of Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo
ConclusionVP shunt is the predominant management for hydrocephalus in this environment with increasing use of ETV/CPC. Further research is needed to evaluate variability by etiology, short and long-term outcomes of procedures performed by neurosurgeons and general surgeons, and regional epidemiologic variability.

Predictors of hydrocephalus as a complication of non-traumatic subarachnoid hemorrhage: a retrospective observational cohort study in 107 patients.
Conclusion: Vasospasmus and a large amount of ventricular blood seem to be a predictor concerning hydrocephalus after non-traumatic SAH. Hence according to our results the presence of these two variables could alert the treating physician in the decision whether an early shunt implantation < 7 days after SAH should be necessary.
