Effects of Running-induced Fatigue on the Trunk-pelvis-hip Coordination Variability During Treadmill Running at Different Speeds
CONCLUSION: According to the results of this study, fatigue reduces coordination and increases variability. The central nervous system probably exerts more control on the distal segments for maintaining moving patterns in fatigue conditions.PMID:37259658 | PMC:PMC10233221

Sensory training system for use at home by people with complex regional pain syndrome in England: protocol for a proof-of-concept study
Introduction Complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) is a disabling and distressing chronic pain condition characterised by a range of sensory, motor, autonomic and trophic symptoms. UK guidelines recommend therapy interventions to help normalise touch perception through self-administered tactile and thermal desensitisation activities. Interventions have been developed, aiming to help individuals broaden their sensory experience, thereby relieving chronic pain. However, therapy-led interventions often experience practical constraints and poor adherence. In response, a sensory training system (STS) device has been designed fo...

A Systematic Review on Long-Term Postsurgical Pain Outcomes; What Is the Effect of Upper Extremity Regional Anesthesia?
CONCLUSIONS: The results of this review indicate that upper extremity regional anesthesia, compared to general anesthesia, is unlikely to change pain intensity at >3 months postoperatively.PMID:37227939 | DOI:10.1213/ANE.0000000000006529

Perspectives on the pharmacological management of complex regional pain syndrome
This article will review the literature on the pharmacologic management of CRPS. It is based on a systematic search of PubMed using key words, followed by evaluation of the bibliographies for relevant articles.EXPERT OPINION: No single drug has amassed enough evidence to suggest clear efficacy but a handful of agents with at least modest evidence are commonly used, including gabapentinoids, bisphosphonates, ketamine, and pulsed dose steroids. Meanwhile, other agents that lack significant evidence specifically in CRPS but have evidence in other neuropathic conditions are commonly prescribed, including tricyclic antidepressa...
