Incidence and risk factors for complex regional pain syndrome in radius fractures: meta-analysis
CONCLUSION: The incidence of CRPS in radius fractures was 13.63%. Fractures with greater complexity or greater associated tissue damage, female sex, high BMI, and psychiatric disorders were risk factors for the development of CRPS.LEVEL OF EVIDENCE: Meta-analysis of cohort and case series studies; II.PMID:37209231 | DOI:10.1007/s00402-023-04909-8

Automatic textual description of colorectal polyp features: explainable artificial intelligence
Endosc Int Open 2023; 11: E513-E518 DOI: 10.1055/a-2071-6652Computer-aided diagnosis systems (CADx) can improve colorectal polyp (CRP) optical diagnosis. For integration into clinical practice, better understanding of artificial intelligence (AI) by endoscopists is needed. We aimed to develop an explainable AI CADx capable of automatically generating textual descriptions of CRPs. For training and testing of this CADx, textual descriptions of CRP size and features according to the Blue Light Imaging (BLI) Adenoma Serrated International Classification (BASIC) were used, describing CRP surface, pit pattern, and vessels. CADx ...

Patients' experiences of treatment-relevant processes in multimodal pain rehabilitation for severe complex regional pain syndrome - a qualitative study
CONCLUSIONS: The participants described distinct possible treatment-relevant processes leading to a substantial improvement in everyday life. The results imply that there is hope for this group that has been severely disabled for many years. This may help guide future clinical treatment trials.PMID:37191973 | DOI:10.1080/09638288.2023.2209744

Epidemiology of Upper Limb Complex Regional Pain Syndrome in a Retrospective Cohort of Persons Aged 9-30 Years, 2002-2017
Conclusion These data provide a comprehensive assessment of the epidemiology and characteristics of CRPS in children and young adults and provide further reassurance about the safety of HPV vaccination.PMID:37154719 | DOI:10.7812/TPP/22.170

CXCL13 contributes to chronic pain of a mouse model of CRPS-I via CXCR5-mediated NF- κB activation and pro-inflammatory cytokine production in spinal cord dorsal horn
Complex regional pain syndrome type-I (CRPS-I) causes excruciating pain that affect patients ’ life quality. However, the mechanisms underlying CRPS-I are incompletely understood, which hampers the development ...

Acupuncture and moxibustion for malignant tumor patients with psychological symptoms of insomnia, anxiety and depression: a systematic review and Meta-analysis
CONCLUSION: The results suggested that AMT might be effective in improving CPRI; however, a definite conclusion could not be drawn because the quality of trials are low. Further large-scale and high-quality RCTs to verify the efficacy and safety of AMT on CRPS are still warranted.PMID:37147745 | DOI:10.19852/j.cnki.jtcm.20230313.001
