Creatine and Creatinine Quantified using Nuclear Magnetic Resonance: A Method Validation Study and Clinical Associations Between Circulating Creatine and Fatigue in Kidney Transplant Recipients
CONCLUSION: An NMR method for measurement of circulating creatine and creatinine which offers the potential for accurate and efficient quantification was developed. The found associations indicate that improving creatine status may play a beneficial role in mitigating fatigue.PMID:37591418 | DOI:10.1016/j.cca.2023.117517

Jejunal or Ileal Exocrine Drainage in Pancreas Transplantation: Impact on Gastrointestinal Function
CONCLUSIONS: Long-term outcomes were comparable between our patient groups. Catastrophic complica-tions occur in a minority of cases, requiring salvage surgery. More complications occurred with ileal anastomosis, but this approach allows graft pancreatectomy and formation of loop ileostomy, avoiding a more proximal stoma in clinically unstable patients. Further studies are needed to examine the impact of enteric anastomosis site.PMID:37584539 | DOI:10.6002/ect.2022.0342

Urinary Tract Infection 1 Year After Kidney Transplant: Effect on Kidney Transplant Outcomes
CONCLUSIONS: We determined that allograft survival was significantly greater in the group without urinary tract infection versus the urinary tract infection group. We found no relation between urinary tract infection recurrence and prophylactic antibiotics. We also found that overall patient survival was not significantly different in the group with urinary tract infection versus the group without urinary tract infection.PMID:37584535 | DOI:10.6002/ect.2023.0057
