A Case of Pneumoperitoneum after Colonoscopy without Frank Perforation
Adv Biomed Res. 2023 Jul 20;12:177. doi: 10.4103/abr.abr_376_22. eCollection 2023.ABSTRACTBenign pneumoperitoneum can happen after colonoscopy, which shows itself as free air in the abdomen without symptoms or pneumoperitoneum without peritonitis. In this case, we reported a rare case of an elderly man who had acute abdominal stiffness after colonoscopy and observation of free air under the diaphragm that no perforation was observed in the intestine during laparoscopy and only one tiny intestinal tumor was randomly reported. There is no consensus on the treatment of pneumoperitoneum after colonoscopy. Patients with periton...

Undiagnosed Lambert-Eaton Myasthenic Syndrome in the Era of Sugammadex: A Case Report
CONCLUSIONS: Sugammadex is an efficient and effective agent for reversal of neuromuscular blockade. However, proper monitoring of the depth and recovery of blockade is imperative to when using sugammadex with optimal safety and precision in all patients. Perioperative care teams must remain vigilant with a high index of suspicion for neuromuscular junction pathology to properly plan perioperative care for patients at risk, especially those with small cell lung cancer who may have undiagnosed LEMS.PMID:37695864 | DOI:10.1097/WNF.0000000000000569

Systematic Review and Meta-analysis of laparoscopic radical hysterectomy vs. Robotic assisted radical hysterectomy for early stage cervical cancer
CONCLUSIONS: RRH seems to result in the patient leaving the hospital sooner after surgery. We were unable to find any differences in our ten other outcomes related to complications or efficacy. These findings suggest that the decreased survival seen in minimally invasive RH in previous studies could be due to factors inherent to both LRH and RRH.PROSPERO PROSPECTIVE REGISTRATION NUMBER: CRD42022273727.PMID:37690282 | DOI:10.1016/j.ejogrb.2023.09.002

Nephroscope-assisted single trocar peritoneal dialysis catheter insertion improves catheter survival compared with laparoscopic technique: Ten-year experience of a single center
CONCLUSIONS: Compared with the traditional laparoscopic approach, the nephroscopic technique effectively prolonged catheter survival and reduces health care cost by reducing infectious complications. The low complication rate during the learning phase of surgery makes the procedure safe for patients and surgeons.PMID:37689515 | DOI:10.1016/j.asjsur.2023.08.143

Is diagnostic laparoscopy necessary in the management of left thoracoabdominal stab wounds?
CONCLUSION: Diagnostic laparoscopy is still the gold standard particularly in the ER setting, particularly in the absence of an experienced radiologist for 24 h and when the close monitoring of the patient by the same team cannot be provided.PMID:37681725 | DOI:10.14744/tjtes.2023.33423
