Patient Controlled Subcutaneous Analgesia of Hydromorphone Versus Morphine to Treat Moderate and Severe Cancer Pain: A Randomized Double-Blind Controlled Trial
Hydromorphone and morphine are the common drugs used for the treatment of moderate to severe cancer pain. Patient controlled subcutaneous analgesia (PCSA) is an effective technique to manage cancer pain. However, few studies have been conducted to show the efficacy and safety of PCSA of hydromorphone for the relief of cancer pain.

Behavior Problems Associated with Pain and Paresthesia
Pain is a subjective, aversive sensory and emotional experience and can cause or exacerbate problem behaviors. In this review, the biobehavioral model of pain is introduced and used to improve understanding by veterinarians of pain mechanisms and their relationship with problem behaviors. A range of potential indicators of discomfort are presented, illustrated by selected cases from the authors ’ behavior and pain referral clinics. Various myths exist around pain resulting in barriers to reporting assessment and treatment. Veterinarians should always consider discomfort in any case presenting with a problem behavior.

“It saved me from the emergency department”: A qualitative study of patient experience of virtual urgent care in Ontario
ConclusionVirtual care options are valued by patients and families; however, the nature of care needed by those accessing VUC and who can best provide that care needs to be evaluated to position it for sustainability. Understanding how virtual care performs from both a provider and patient perspective during the current crisis has implications for designing alternative care options beyond the COVID-19 pandemic.

International Urogynecology consultation chapter 2 committee 3: the clinical evaluation of pelvic organ prolapse including investigations into associated morbidity/pelvic floor dysfunction
ConclusionsThe clinical pelvic examination remains the central tool for evaluation of POP and a system such as the POP-Q or S-POP should be used to describe and quantify. The value of investigation for urinary tract dysfunction was discussed and findings presented. The routine addition of GI radiographic or physiological testing is currently not recommended. There are no data on the role of the routine assessment of pain or sexual function, and this area needs more study. Imaging studies alone cannot replace clinical examination for the assessment of POP.

The emerging role of the urinary microbiome in benign noninfectious urological conditions: an up-to-date systematic review
ConclusionThe study of the urogenital microbiome is rapidly expanding in urology. Noninfectious benign urogenital diseases, such as BPH, calcium oxalate stones, CPPS, and OAB were found to be associated with specific microbial taxonomies. Further research with larger study populations is necessary to solidify the knowledge of the urine microbiome in these conditions and to facilitate the creation of microbiome-based diagnostic and therapeutic approaches.

Development and temporal validation of clinical prediction models for 1-year disability and pain after lumbar decompressive surgery. The Norwich Lumbar Surgery Predictor (development version)
ConclusionImportant PROM predictors are baseline PROMs, specific co-morbidities, work status, condition duration, previous lumbar operation, female, and smoking status. The ODI model predicted the likelihood of achieving a satisfactory state of both disability and pain.

Predictors of the masticatory muscle activity during chewing in patients with myogenous temporomandibular disorder
ConclusionsAccording to the present study, pain intensity, muscle and joint tenderness, and the severity of the disorder are predictive factors for MMA of the masseter and TA muscles in patients with mTMD. It is recommended that these parameters be considered when establishing clinical evaluation and treatment programs focusing on MMA in patients with mTMD.Clinical relevanceThe pain intensity, masticatory muscles and TMJ tenderness, and disorder severity are predictors for MMA of the masseter and TA in patients with mTMD. Pain intensity has the most significant importance.
