Case Report: Multiple colorectal cancers in a patient with Ulcerative colitis and Lynch syndrome: Is there a role for prophylactic colectomy? A short report and review of literature
It is a known fact that Lynch syndrome (LS) and Ulcerative colitis (UC) are individually associated with increased risk of colorectal cancer. While there is no conclusive evidence to demonstrate a cumulative risk when these two conditions coexist, available data suggest early onset and synchronous cancers are synonymous to this group. We have reported an unusual case of multiple synchronous colorectal cancers in a young man with ulcerative colitis and Lynch syndrome also known as Hereditary Nonpolyposis Colorectal Cancer (HNPCC) gene mutation. We propose that conducting a detailed genetic mutation profile in LS patients ma...

IJERPH, Vol. 19, Pages 14517: Desire for Children and Distress in Women with Hereditary Cancer Syndromes
This study aimed to gain insights into the relationship between the desire for children and the distress of female carriers. Women (N = 255) with different hereditary cancer syndromes were assessed from November 2019 to July 2021 at genetic counseling centers, the centers of the German HBOC-Consortium and the centers of the German HNPCC-Consortium regarding their distress levels with the NCCN Distress Thermometer (DT). The desire for children was measured by self-developed questions. Levels of distress and desire for children were evaluated descriptively. Factors influencing the desire for children and distress were calcul...

Lynch syndrome: An unusal case of familial cancer unearthed
Indian J Pathol Microbiol. 2022 Apr-Jun;65(2):465-467. doi: 10.4103/IJPM.IJPM_809_19.ABSTRACTLynch syndrome or hereditary nonpolyposis colorectal cancer (HNPCC) is a type of inherited cancer syndrome with a genetic predisposition to different types of cancer. There is an increased predisposition to cancers in the endometrium, colon, stomach, ovary, uterus, skin, kidney, and brain in patients of Lynch syndrome. We are reporting a 48-year-old male who presented with a pea-sized growth in his left arm which was found to be sebaceoma on histopathology. On further detailed history, examination, and genetic study, it was proved ...
