Psychedelic Science 2023 – Full Conference Review
In June I attended the Psychedelic Science 2023 conference at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver. We were told this was the largest psychedelic-related gathering in the history of the planet, attracting about 12,000 attendees and 500 speakers. I am the first to say (quite loudly at times) that pain is a whole person experience. I say this because my experience of pain is mine and utterly unable to be shared in all its complexity. The only way other people know about my pain is through my actions – both involuntary and voluntary. And even then: the way I express myself differs depending on my social context, my mood, my goals, and what I think my pain represents. Yet when I’m asleep, I don’t have pain, when I have anaesthetic for my colonoscopy, I don’t have pain – so what goes on in my brain is kinda important.

In this study, the people with type 2 diabetes who didn’t have any of those extra risk factors, they’re likely to have had their first heart attack was less than people who didn’t have diabetes.So again, it’s only one study. A Therapist ’s Reflection In the Face of a Patient’s Death
I sat in the funeral home and just stood back and observed. There was a montage of pictures. I had an opportunity to see him in his youth, when he got married, and when he was a single parent with two very young children. In these photos I got the chance to meet all the people he’s spoken about for over 15 years with me. There were actual faces to the people I have grown to know so intimately.
