Comparison of the diagnoses, the outpatient clinics they visited, and the number of visits of patients with and without a diagnosis of fibromyalgia syndrome: Do patients with fibromyalgia syndrome come to the hospital more often?

Client ‐centered lifestyle intervention for men with fibromyalgia syndrome: Is efficacy independent of gender?
ConclusionThe client-centered lifestyle intervention was shown to be effective in fibromyalgia severity, occupational performance, occupational satisfaction, anxiety, depression, and life satisfaction of both men and women with FMS. Levels of progress in occupational participation could show gender-based differences. The study suggests that more attention should be paid to psychosocial factors when assessing men's occupational participation and planning appropriate interventions.

Mechanisms hypothesized for pain-relieving effects of exercise in fibromyalgia: a scoping review
CONCLUSION: Multiple mechanisms were hypothesized for the positive influence of exercise in people with FM. Future studies using causal analyses, such as mediation analysis, are recommended to validate these mechanisms.PMID:37484924 | PMC:PMC10356998 | DOI:10.1177/1759720X231182894

Personality construct as a biomarker in fibromyalgia: A narrative review from an autonomic rehabilitation perspective
CONCLUSIONS: This article lays out a constructive framework for individualized and personalized medicine for the effective rehabilitation of FM patients. The quest to find a definitive diagnosis of FM should include personality biomarkers that might translate into personalized medicine. An individualistic approach may bank upon artificial intelligence algorithms for both diagnostic as well as prognostic purposes in FM.PMID:37482976 | DOI:10.3233/BMR-220353
