Social variables for replication of studies using mean scores of social support, self-care, and fibromyalgia knowledge: a cross-sectional study
AbstractTo investigate biopsychosocial variables that contribute to explaining social support, self-care, and fibromyalgia knowledge in patients with fibromyalgia. A cross-sectional study. We built ten models of predictive variables (schooling, ethnicity, associated diseases, body regions affected by pain, employment status, monthly income, marital status, health level, medication, sports activities, interpersonal relationships, nutrition level, widespread pain, symptom severity, cohabitation, dependent people, number of children, social support, self-care, and fibromyalgia knowledge) and individually tested their explanat...

Evaluation of sexual dysfunction in females with neck and upper back myofascial pain syndrome: a cross-sectional study
AbstractMyofascial pain syndrome (MPS) is a prevalent chronic musculoskeletal pain disorder that is frequently encountered in clinical practice and can cause sexual dysfunction in women. While there have been studies examining sexual function in various painful rheumatic conditions, particularly fibromyalgia, no studies have been conducted specifically on primary MPS. In this context, we aimed to investigate the frequency of sexual intercourse and the factors associated with it in women diagnosed with MPS. The study was designed as a cross-sectional study at a tertiary rehabilitation center between May 2022 and April 2023....

Health services utilization by fibromyalgia patients from two ethnic groups
ConclusionsThe utilization rate of healthcare services is high among fibromyalgia patients. The factors associated with high healthcare utilization are different in the two ethnic groups. Future studies could show if interventions designed to address modifiable factors could reduce the overutilization of healthcare services.

The relationship between metacognition, anger, and pain intensity among fibromyalgia patients: a serial mediation model
This study aims to investigate whether anger rumination and state anger serially mediate the relationship between metacognitions and the intensity of pain. The study included 446 subjects who: declared having received a fibromyalgia diagnosis by a rheumatologist/pain physician; completed measures of metacognitions, anger rumination, state-anger, and pain intensity. The serial mediation analysis was conducted using Hayes' PROCESS macro (Model 6). Negative beliefs about worry and beliefs about the need to control thoughts indirectly influenced the intensity of pain through two significant mediating pathways: state-anger and ...
