Surgical Outcomes of Sigmoid Sinus Resurfacing for Pulsatile Tinnitus : Predictive Value of Water Occlusion Test and Imaging study
CONCLUSION.: SS-R provides significant symptom improvement in patients with sigmoid sinus dehiscence with positive WOT without other sigmoid sinus variants. A combined diagnostic approach with TBCT, WOT, and intraoperative findings is crucial to achieve better surgical outcomes of PT caused by sigmoid sinus variants.PMID:37475140 | DOI:10.21053/ceo.2023.00388

Otosclerosis and stapedotomy: hearing improvement, complications, and analysis of potential prognostic factors in a series of 93 cases
CONCLUSION AND SIGNIFICANCE: Stapedotomy gave good audible improvement with a low risk of complications. Preoperative ABG was the only prognostic factor affecting the hearing outcome. Only one follow-up 6-12 months seems relevant.PMID:37471233 | DOI:10.1080/00016489.2023.2231973

Schwannomas of Brain and Spinal Cord
Adv Exp Med Biol. 2023;1405:331-362. doi: 10.1007/978-3-031-23705-8_12.ABSTRACTSchwannomas are benign tumors originating from the Schwann cells of cranial or spinal nerves. The most common cranial schwannomas originate from the eight cranial nervevestibular schwannomas (VS). VS account for 6-8% of all intracranial tumors, 25-33% of the tumors localized in the posterior cranial fossa, and 80-94% of the tumors in the cerebellopontine angle (CPA). Schwannomas of other cranial nerves/trigeminal, facial, and schwannomas of the lower cranial nerves/are much less frequent. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), intracr...

Incidence and presentation of vestibular schwannoma: a 3-year cohort registry study
ConclusionsThe incidence of vestibular schwannoma has increased compared to previous studies in the UK and is similar to incidence rates reported in other countries during the past decade. It peaks in the seventh decade of life, mainly because of an increase in the diagnosis of small tumours with a long duration of audio-vestibular symptoms in older patients, compared to earlier studies.

Middle Ear Carcinoid Tumour a Diagnostic Dilemma
AbstractCarcinoid tumours are neuroendocrine tumours associated with gastrointestinal tract, lungs and rarely seen in middle ear. A 29  year old male presented with nonspecific symptoms of blocking sensation, reduced hearing and tinnitus in the right ear. Otoscopy showed congestion of right tympanic membrane with bulge in anterior quadrant with no blanching on siegalization. Audiometry showing conductive hearing loss. CT scan show ing mildly enhancing mass in the right middle ear cavity. Complete excision was done and Histopathological studied showed features favouring adenoma and immunohistochemistry showed positive stai...

Audiological Profiling and Importance of Vestibular Rehabilitation for a Patient with Ramsay Hunt Syndrome: Case Report
AbstractThe case report highlights the importance of the rehabilitative approach and the role of audiology in managing patients with Ramsay Hunt Syndrome (RHS).  RHS is a rare condition characterized by neuropathies involving multiple cranial nerves. Out of three neurological variants noted in the literature, RHS type II is characterized by hearing loss, tinnitus, and vertigo. The current case report is of a 37-year-old female diagnosed with RHS type II wh o reported with the complaints of right-sided headache and chronic otalgia. The progression of the disease caused hearing loss and tinnitus on the right side. Subseque...
