Single versus multichannel applicator in high-dose-rate vaginal brachytherapy optimized by inverse treatment planning.
CONCLUSIONS: Vaginal HDR brachytherapy using a multichannel vaginal applicator and inverse planning provides dosimetric advantages over single channel cylinder, by reducing the dose to organs at risk without compromising the target volume coverage, but at the expense of an increased vaginal mucosa dose. University Cooperation Platform (UCP) between Christian-Albrechts-University Kiel (Germany) and Chiang Mai University (Thailand): implementation of image-guided gynecological brachytherapy.

Uterine perforation and its dosimetric implications in cervical cancer high-dose-rate brachytherapy.
CONCLUSIONS: We report a low incidence of uterine perforation and sub-serosal insertion of uterine tandem in intracavitary HDR brachytherapy for cervical cancer. High-dose-rate brachytherapy delivered in two fractions as monotherapy for low-risk prostate cancer.
CONCLUSIONS: High-dose-rate brachytherapy administered as monotherapy for prostate cancer proved to be a safe alternative treatment for patients with low-risk prostate cancer. Mapping of dose distribution from IMRT onto MRI-guided high dose rate brachytherapy using deformable image registration for cervical cancer treatments: preliminary study with commercially available software.
CONCLUSIONS: This study reveals that deformed EBRT dose distribution to HR-CTV and OARs in MR images for brachytherapy is technically feasible, and achieves differences compared to a uniform dose distribution. Effect of tissue composition on dose distribution in brachytherapy with various photon emitting sources.
CONCLUSIONS: The ignorance of soft tissue characteristics (density, composition, etc.) by treatment planning systems incorporates a significant error in dose delivery to the patient in brachytherapy with photon sources. Iodine-125 prostate seed brachytherapy in renal transplant recipients: an analysis of oncological outcomes and toxicity profile.

MITHRA - multiparametric MR/CT image adapted brachytherapy (MR/CT-IABT) in anal canal cancer: a feasibility study.
CONCLUSIONS: Brachytherapy is a possible option in anal cancer radiotherapy to perform the boost to complete external beam radiotherapy (EBRT). Magnetic resonance can also have biological advantages compared to the US. Our results suggest that the multiparametric MR/CT-IABT for anal cancer is feasible and safe.
