Efficacy of TTFields in high-grade gliomas: a protocol for systematic review and meta-analysis
Introduction Despite their recent FDA(Food and Drug Administration) approval, tumour treatment fields (TTFields) have not seen acceptance as part of standard of care (SOC) for the treatment of high-grade gliomas (HGGs). Few studies have reported the clinical effect of simultaneous or sequential use of TTFields with the current SOC. However, whether TTFields are beneficial over the standard treatment remains to be established with a meta-analysis. Therefore, we here performed a systematic review and meta-analysis to understand the benefit of TTFields for patients with HGGs. Methods and analysis We registered this systemati...

Favourable outcomes with an initial active surveillance strategy for asymptomatic radiation-induced meningiomas in long-term survivors of paediatric and young adult malignancies
Radiation-induced meningiomas (RIM) are the most common intracranial secondary neoplasm in childhood cancer survivors,1 –4 with the potential for significant morbidity in this vulnerable patient group.5 Population-based studies have demonstrated that the incidence of RIM is as high as 6-20% in survivors previously exposed to cranial radiotherapy.1,3,5–7 Unlike radiation-induced gliomas, the incidence of RIM does not appear to plateau over time.3,5,7,8

A cross-sectional study to test equivalence of low- versus intermediate-flip angle dynamic susceptibility contrast MRI measures of relative cerebral blood volume in patients with high-grade gliomas at 1.5 Tesla field strength
ConclusionOur study provides preliminary evidence that for HGG patients at 1.5T MRI, a low FA, no preload DSC-MRI acquisition can be an appealing alternative to the reference standard higher FA acquisition that utilizes a preload.

Proteomic landscape of primary and metastatic brain tumors for heterogeneity discovery
CONCLUSIONS AND CLINICAL RELEVANCE: We characterized an extensive proteomic landscape of BrMs and gliomas. These findings have promising implications for the development of targeted therapies for BrMs and gliomas.PMID:37726528 | DOI:10.1002/prca.202300010

They also generate cytokine and chemokine gradients that regulate immune cell trafficking, activation, and function. Monocyte-derived DCs (moDCs) pulsed with tumor antigens have been used as a platform for therapeutic vaccination in cancer. However, in spite of significant development and testing, antigen-loaded moDCs have delivered mixed clinical results. Here we present a DC ...

GSE222560 Glioma synapses recruit mechanisms of adaptive plasticity: Gene expression in SU-DIPG21 and SU-DIPG25 cell cultures
Contributors : Kathryn R Taylor ; Surya Nagaraja ; Rebecca Mancusi ; Michelle MonjeSeries Type : Expression profiling by high throughput sequencingOrganism : Homo sapiensThe nervous system plays an increasingly appreciated role in the regulation of cancer. In gliomas, neuronal activity drives tumor progression through paracrine signaling factors such as neuroligin-3 and brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), and also through electrophysiologically functional neuron-to-glioma synapses mediated by AMPA ( α-amino-3-hydroxy-5-methyl-4-isoxazole propionic acid) receptors. The consequent glioma cell membrane depolarization d...

GPX8 regulates pan-apoptosis in gliomas to promote microglial migration and mediate immunotherapy responses
ConclusionsThe incorporation of pan-apoptosis-related features shows promising potential for clinical applications in predicting tumor progression and advancing immunotherapeutic strategies. However, further in vitro and in vivo investigations are necessary to validate the tumorigenic and immunogenic processes associated with GPX8 in gliomas.
