MDMA targets miR-124/MEKK3 via MALAT1 to promote Parkinson's disease progression
CONCLUSION: MDMA promotes MALAT1 expression and inhibits the targeted downregulation of MEKK3 by miR-124, resulting in upregulation of the expression of MEKK3 and finally jointly promoting PD progression.PMID:37688681 | DOI:10.1007/s11033-023-08775-w

Hub genes in adenocarcinoma of the esophagogastric junction based on weighted gene co-expression network analysis and immunohistochemistry
CONCLUSION: Weighted gene co-expression network analysis and immunohistochemistry identified CD93 as a hub gene that might be critical for AEG biology.PMID:37689006 | DOI:10.1016/j.tranon.2023.101781

Immunohistochemical Expression of Upregulated Gene 4 Protein Expression (URG4/URGCP) and Its Association with 5-Year Survival in Patients with Colon Adenocarcinoma
Conclusions: High immunohistochemical expression of URG4 correlates with poor prognosis in patients with colon adenocarcinoma.PMID:37685545 | PMC:PMC10488385 | DOI:10.3390/jcm12175477

Machine-Learning-Aided Prediction of Brain Metastases Development in Non-Small-Cell Lung Cancers
CONCLUSION: Analysis of the importance of input features suggests that the models are learning the relevant relationships between clinical features/development of BM. A higher number of samples is to be prioritized to improve performance. Employed prospectively at initial diagnosis, such models can help select high-risk subgroups for surveillance brain MRI.PMID:37689579 | DOI:10.1016/j.cllc.2023.08.002

Risk stratification of invasive cervical cancer diagnosed after cervical conization
CONCLUSION: HPV16 positivity and nulliparity were identified as risk factors for undetected ICC. Careful treatment selection and preoperative scrupulous examination are especially important in these cases.PMID:37681246 | DOI:10.1093/jjco/hyad121

Clinicopathologic study of stage I adenosquamous carcinoma of the lung
CONCLUSIONS: Early-stage adenosquamous carcinoma of the lung is a histological type associated with severe prognosis and postoperative recurrence, often in distant sites, in approximately one-third of cases. High serum carcinoembryonic antigen levels and vascular invasion might be risk factors of recurrence.PMID:37681230 | DOI:10.1093/jjco/hyad122

68Ga-PSMA-11 PET/CT in a Case of Isolated Parietal Peritoneal Metastasis From Prostate Adenocarcinoma
We present 68Ga-PSMA-11 PET/CT findings in a case of isolated parietal peritoneal metastasis from prostate adenocarcinoma 35 months after radical prostatectomy. The peritoneal metastases showed multifocal intense PSMA uptake, but subtle structural abnormalities on 68Ga-PSMA-11 PET/CT. The patient was subsequently treated with androgen deprivation therapy. The peritoneal metastases progressed 25 months after the initiation of androgen deprivation therapy and were removed surgically. Histologic and immunohistochemical evaluation revealed metastatic prostate adenocarcinoma with treatment-related neuroendocrine differentiation...
