Thyroid Functions Are Associated with All-Cause Long-Term Mortality in Elderly Patients with ST-Segment Elevation Myocardial Infarction Undergoing Primary Percutaneous Coronary Intervention
CONCLUSION: In our study, subclinical values in thyroid functions were found to be associated with increased mortality, apart from known factors in elderly patients who underwent primary PTCA with the diagnosis of ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction.PMID:37671518 | DOI:10.5543/tkda.2023.53389

Predictive performance of CHA2DS2-VASc-HS score and Framingham risk scores for coronary disease severity in ischemic heart disease patients with invasive coronary angiography
CONCLUSIONS: Our study demonstrated a high predictive performance of coronary artery injury using the CHA2DS2-VASc-HS score and Framingham risk scores. Effect of sodium-glucose co-transporter-2 inhibitors on coronary blood flow in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus

Abnormal aortic origin of coronary arteries
CONCLUSIONS: The under diagnosis by TTE of coronary artery abnormalities may be due to the difficulty of visualization that is accentuated with age. Their detection is crucial because they can both, lead to sudden death associated with an intramural and/or interarterial pathway and complicate an interventional procedure on the interatrial septum or within the mitral, pulmonary and/or aortic rings.PMID:37669688 | DOI:10.24875/ACM.22000136

A man in his sixties with acute chest pain
We present a case where the patient himself had made a correct non-cardiac diagnosis, but this was initially overlooked by the doctor.CASE PRESENTATION: A man with a history of cardiac infarction was admitted with acute chest pain and troponin elevation.
