Intravascular Ultrasound in Detection of Bridging Stent Graft Instability During Fenestrated and Branched Endovascular Aneurysm Repair Procedures: A Multicentre Study on 274 Target Vessels
CONCLUSION: This study suggests that IVUS is a safe and potentially valuable adjunct imaging technology for intra-operative detection of TVV instability. Further long term investigations on larger cohorts are required to validate these promising results and to compare IVUS with alternative technologies in terms of efficiency, radiation exposure, procedural time, and costs.PMID:37704100 | DOI:10.1016/j.ejvs.2023.09.009

Qualitative use of ICG angiography and lymphography in periorbital surgery
CONCLUSION: ICG allows for visualization of the vasculature of extraocular muscles and tumors, assessing perfusion of flaps during reconstruction and the global periorbital lymphatic drainage pathways.PMID:37698555 | DOI:10.1080/01676830.2023.2251569

Analysis of circulating ceramides and hexosylceramides in patients with coronary artery disease and type II diabetes mellitus
CONCLUSION: This study suggests that levels of circulating HexCers are downregulated in patients with CAD and concomitant DM compared to patients without DM. Further research is needed to investigate the underlying mechanisms and the suitability of HexCers as possible mediators and/or prognostic markers in CAD.PMID:37700226 | DOI:10.1186/s12872-023-03454-x

Characteristics of Premature Myocardial Infarction Among Women With Prior Adverse Pregnancy Outcomes
CONCLUSIONS: Among women with premature MIs, 39% had a history of an APO. Women with APO history presented sooner after pregnancy but had similar MI characteristics vs those without APOs. Pregnancy history may identify women who warrant early, aggressive cardiovascular disease prevention.PMID:37694271 | PMC:PMC10487279 | DOI:10.1016/j.jacadv.2023.100411

A Case Report: An Unusual Variation in the Facial Artery
Adv Biomed Res. 2023 Jul 20;12:178. doi: 10.4103/abr.abr_258_22. eCollection 2023.ABSTRACTThe facial artery is the main artery supplying the face occasionally. It gives three branches on the face, the inferior labial, the superior labial, and the lateral nasal, and terminates as the angular artery. Due to congenital vascular variations in the facial artery, it has been considered in the dissection of the head and neck region. During the dissection of a 65-year-old woman to expose this region, we discovered that the left facial artery is terminated by the superior labial artery after giving off the submental and inferior la...
