Narcissism Is Not Associated With Success in  U.S. Army Soldier Training
CONCLUSIONS: Although narcissism has been positively associated with military trainee success in other countries, we did not find an association between narcissism and trainee success among U.S. Army trainees, and accordingly the level of narcissism did not predict trainee success or failure.PMID:37738176 | DOI:10.1093/milmed/usad365

Pancreatic fistula: interventional radiological treatment by collection. Jejunal loop internal drainage
We report the case of a patient affected by ampullar adenocarcinoma who underwent pancreaticoduodenectomy. Surgery was complicated by high-flow pancreatic fistula treated conservatively with CT guided percutaneous transhepatic drainage. Due to persistent leak of pancreatic fluid the abdominal effusion was drained percutaneously in the jejunal loop by Interventional radiology. KEY WORDS: Pancreatic fistula, Jejunal loop internal drainage, Radiological treatment.PMID:37737663

Oil Prices Mixed Amid Diverging Global Cues
0057 GMT — Oil prices are mixed in early Asian trade amid diverging global cues. Oil prices are being weighed by the U.S. Fed’s hawkish tone that has stoked fears about holding rates higher for longer. The Fed sees a labor market that isn’t weakening and the key drivers of inflation are still…#usfeds #oanda #edwardmoya #exsoviet #frontmonth

Customised enriched coconut oil as panacea for oral biofilm mediated diseases - A prospective study
Conclusions: Within the limitations of the pilot study, both oils are comparable to CHX for their antiplaque and anticaries potential. Clinically, CEC was better than AT though statistical difference was not there.

Predictors of compliance with higher dose omega-3 fatty acid supplementation during pregnancy and implications for the risk of prematurity: exploratory analysis of the ORIP randomised trial
Conclusions Results in compliers were similar to those from intention-to-treat analyses, suggesting that non-compliance was not a major factor in explaining outcomes from the ORIP trial. Trial registration number ACTRN12613001142729.

Nephrotic syndrome induced by aortic regurgitation with Takayasu arteritis: an autopsy case with long-term clinical follow-up
AbstractTakayasu arteritis is a rare, chronic, and large-vessel vasculitis involving the aorta and its branches in a complex autoimmune reaction. Takayasu arteritis sometimes complicates aortic regurgitation and chronic kidney disease, but rarely accompanies nephrotic syndrome. We had a patient with Takayasu arteritis and concomitant aortic regurgitation. She had nephrotic syndrome that was refractory to immunosuppressive therapy but was promptly improved after surgical aortic valve replacement. In her kidney biopsy, glomeruli had mild mesangial proliferative changes without immune complex deposition. Her proteinuria remai...

Possible Role of Dysbiosis of the Gut Microbiome in SLE
AbstractPurpose of ReviewThe resident gut microbiota serves as a double-edged sword that aids the host in multiple ways to preserve a healthy equilibrium and serve as early companions and boosters for the gradual evolution of our immune defensive layers; nevertheless, the perturbation of the symbiotic resident intestinal communities has a profound impact on autoimmunity induction, particularly in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Herein, we seek to critically evaluate the microbiome research in SLE with a focus on intestinal dysbiosis.Recent FindingsSLE is a complex and heterogeneous disorder with self-attack due to loss...

Molecules, Vol. 28, Pages 6766: Oil-Soluble Exogenous Catalysts and Reservoir Minerals Synergistically Catalyze the Aquathermolysis of Heavy Oil
hao Gang Chen Oil is the “blood” and economic lifeblood of modern industry, but traditional light crude oil has been over-consumed, and it has been difficult to meet human demand for energy, so the exploitation of heavy oil is particularly important. In this paper, an oil-soluble catalyst was synthesized to catalyze the pyrolysis reaction of heavy oil in collaboration with reservoir minerals, so as to achieve efficient viscosity reduction of heavy oil and reduce production costs. The experimental results showed that Zn(II)O + K had the best synergistic viscosity reduction effect after the ...

Cancers, Vol. 15, Pages 4681: Decanoic Acid Exerts Its Anti-Tumor Effects via Targeting c-Met Signaling Cascades in Hepatocellular Carcinoma Model
Kwang Seok Ahn DA, one of the medium-chain fatty acids found in coconut oil, is suggested to have diverse biochemical functions. However, its possible role as a chemoprevention agent in HCC has not been deciphered. Aberrant activation of c-Met can modulate tumor growth and progression in HCC. Here, we report that DA exhibited pro-found anti-tumor effects on human HCC through the suppression of HGF/c-Met signaling cascades in vitro and in vivo. It was noted that DA inhibited HGF-induced activation of c-Met and its downstream signals. DA induced apoptotic cell death and inhibited the expression of diverse tumorigenic pr...
