Observations in the Field Concerning Infection Control Practices in Dialysis
This article describes observations and findings related to infection prevention and control in dialysis facilities. Ensuring infection control best practices is critical for patient safety. Survey findings related to hand hygiene, disinfection practices, medication preparation and administration, central venous catheter management, and hepatitis B surveillance are reviewed. Implications for nephrology nursing in each scenario are discussed, including survey guidance for COVID-19 post-pandemic.PMID:37695516

Clinical, Gender, Socioeconomic Characteristics and Outcomes of Individuals Receiving Hepatitis B Treatment in Ethiopia: 18-Month Follow-Up

We conducted a single-center 18-month prospective cohort study in Ethiopia to understand clinical, laboratory, and demographic variables associated with HBV treatment. Diagnostic performance of gadoxetic acid-enhanced abbreviated magnetic resonance imaging protocol in small hepatocellular carcinoma ( ≤2 cm) in high-risk patients
CONCLUSION: A-MRI using diagnostic criteria including hypointensity on hepatobiliary phase plus mild to moderate hyperintensity on T2-weighted imaging or restricted diffusion demonstrated comparable sensitivity and specificity for small HCC compared to the F-MRI protocol in high-risk patients.PMID:37691270 | DOI:10.1177/02841851231195567
