Effect of Photobiomodulation on the Depth of Local Anesthesia during Endodontic Treatment of Teeth with Symptomatic Irreversible Pulpitis
CONCLUSION: The irradiation by diode laser (980 nm) prior to administration of local anesthesia appears to be useful in minimizing discomfort and additional injection during root canal therapy (RCT).CLINICAL SIGNIFICANCE: Pain management is essential for providing the best possible treatment to patients before, during, and after endodontic therapy. Adequate pain control during treatment also aids in reducing postoperative discomfort. This implies the need for additional methods to reduce discomfort during endodontic treatment; hence, adjuncts are crucial to achieving this goal. Photobiomodulation may be used as an adjuvant...

Utility of in-house and commercial PCR assay in diagnosis of Covid-19 associated mucormycoss in an emergency setting in a tertiary care center
Conclusion. Because the in-house PCR is not only sensitive and specific, but also entirely based on SYBR Green for detection of targets, it is less expensive than probe-based assays and can be used on a regular basis for the diagnosis of IM in resource-constrained settings. It can be used to distinguish between mucormycosis and fungal sinusitis caused by Aspergillus and Fusarium in high-risk patients, as well as to accurately detect Mucorales in fungal co-infection cases.PMID:37624041 | DOI:10.1099/jmm.0.001745

Whole genomic sequence of Enterobacter sichuanensis AJI 2411 - A Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria
Gene. 2023 Aug 23:147725. doi: 10.1016/j.gene.2023.147725. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTEnterobacter sichuanensis AJI 2411 is a rhizobacteria displaying plant growth promoting potentials, which was isolated from the rhizosphere of soybeans in Ede, Osun State, Nigeria. The full genome of Enterobacter sichuanensis AJI 2411 was sequenced and reported in this study to shed light on the molecular mechanisms that aids the bacteria's plant growth-promoting abilities.PMID:37625562 | DOI:10.1016/j.gene.2023.147725

The influence of food packaging on independent eating in individuals with hand impairments
CONCLUSIONS: Inpatients with a hand impairment often experience several challenges with independent eating while in hospital as a result of their difficulties with hard to open food packaging. A greater consideration of universal design principles may be relevant for designers to make packaging more accessible.PMID:37623427 | DOI:10.1080/09638288.2023.2247982
