Pre-Transplantation Serum Parathyroid Hormone Influences the Number of Mobilized CD34+ Hematopoietic Stem Cells in Autologous Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation
CONCLUSION: We suggested that serum PTH levels before transplantation could be influential in raising the number of circulating CD34+ hematopoietic stem cell after mobilization.PMID:34277871 | PMC:PMC8279713 | DOI:10.52547/rbmb.10.1.76

Enteric glial cell heterogeneity regulates intestinal stem cell niches
Cell Stem Cell. 2021 Oct 25:S1934-5909(21)00416-1. doi: 10.1016/j.stem.2021.10.004. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThe high turnover and regenerative capacity of the adult intestine relies on resident stem cells located at the bottom of the crypt. The enteric nervous system consists of an abundant network of enteric glial cells (EGCs) and neurons. Despite the close proximity of EGCs to stem cells, their in vivo role as a stem cell niche is still unclear. By analyzing the mouse and human intestinal mucosa transcriptomes at the single-cell level, we defined the regulation of EGC heterogeneity in homeostasis and chronic inflam...

Foraging for the Optimal Dressing Scaffold to Carry Adipose-Derived Stromal/Progenitor Cells for Cell Therapy
Cell Transplant. 2022 Jan-Dec;31:9636897221113798. doi: 10.1177/09636897221113798.ABSTRACTIn our daily plastic surgery practice, we have seen many chronic wounds that need new biotechnology to help and improve wound healing. Stem cells play a crucial role in regenerative medicine. Many pre-clinical researches had reported the beneficial paracrine effects of stem cell therapy for chronic wounds. Cell-friendly scaffolds may provide the protection and three-dimensional space required for adherence of stem cells, thus allowing these stem cells to proliferate and differentiate for treatment purpose. A successful scaffold may en...

The miR ‐200 family is required for ectodermal organ development through the regulation of the epithelial stem cell niche
In this study, we inhibited themiR ‐200 family in developing murine embryos using new technology, resulting in an expanded epithelial stem cell niche and lack of cell differentiation. Inhibition of individual miRs within themiR ‐200 cluster resulted in differential developmental and cell morphology defects.miR ‐200 inhibition increased the expression of dental epithelial stem cell markers, expanded the stem cell niche and decreased progenitor cell differentiation. RNA ‐seq. identifiedmiR ‐200 regulatory pathways involved in cell differentiation and compartmentalization of the stem cell niche. ThemiR ‐200 family...

The interplay between extracellular matrix and progenitor/stem cells during wound healing: Opportunities and future directions
Acta Histochem. 2021 Sep 6;123(7):151785. doi: 10.1016/j.acthis.2021.151785. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTSkin wound healing, a dynamic physiological process, progresses through coordinated overlapping phases to restore skin integrity. In some pathological conditions such as diabetes, wounds become chronic and hard-to-heal resulting in substantial morbidity and healthcare costs. Despite much advancement in understanding mechanisms of wound healing, chronic and intractable wounds are still a considerable challenge to nations' health care systems. Extracellular matrix (ECM) components play pivotal roles in all phases of wou...

Neural stem cell-derived exosomes and regeneration: cell-free therapeutic strategies for traumatic brain injury
Stem Cell Res Ther. 2023 Aug 8;14(1):198. doi: 10.1186/s13287-023-03409-1.ABSTRACTRegenerative repair of the brain after traumatic brain injury (TBI) remains an extensive clinical challenge, inspiring intensified interest in therapeutic approaches to explore superior repair strategies. Exosome therapy is another research hotspot following stem cell alternative therapy. Prior research verified that exosomes produced by neural stem cells can participate in the physiological and pathological changes associated with TBI and have potential neuroregulatory and repair functions. In comparison with their parental stem cells, exoso...
