Antenatal corticosteroids in specific groups at risk of preterm birth: a systematic review
Conclusions There is a paucity of evidence on ACS for women who have diabetes. ACS therapy may have benefits in women with chorioamnionitis and is probably beneficial in FGR. There is limited direct trial evidence on ACS efficacy in women undergoing planned CS in the late preterm period, though the totality of evidence suggests it is probably beneficial. Relationship between daytime napping with the occurrence and development of diabetes: a systematic review and meta-analysis
Conclusions Napping is associated with increased diabetes risk and poor glycaemic control, and future research will need to confirm whether there are sex and regional differences. Nap durations of more than 60 min significantly increases the risk of diabetes, and the relationship between nap duration and glycaemic control in patients with diabetes needs to be further explored in the future. Effect of robotic-assisted gait training on gait and motor function in spinal cord injury: a protocol of a systematic review with meta-analysis
Introduction Robotic-assisted gait training (RAGT) has been reported to be effective in rehabilitating patients with spinal cord injury (SCI). However, studies on RAGT showed different results due to a varied number of samples. Thus, summarising studies based on robotic-related factors is critical for the accurate estimation of the effects of RAGT on SCI. This work aims to search for strong evidence showing that using RAGT is effective in treating SCI and analyse the deficiencies of current studies. Methods and analysis The following publication databases were electronically searched in December 2022 without restrictions ...

The increasing complexity of arbovirus serology: An in-depth systematic review on cross-reactivity
by Louella M. R. Kasbergen, David F. Nieuwenhuijse, Erwin de Bruin, Reina S. Sikkema, Marion P. G. Koopmans Diagnosis of arbovirus infection or exposure by antibody testing is becoming increasingly difficult due to global expansion of arboviruses, which induce antibodies that may (cross-)react in serological assays. We provide a systematic review of the current knowledge and knowledge gaps in differential arbovirus serology. The search included Medline, Embase and Web of Science databases and identified 911 publications which were reduced to 102 after exclusion of studies not providing data on possible cross-reactivity or...

Hepatitis B reactivation in cancer patients receiving immune checkpoint inhibitors: a systematic review and meta-analysis
ConclusionsOur meta-analysis demonstrated a low risk of HBVr in patients treated with ICIs for advanced cancer. ICI treatment may be safely used in patients with existing HBV infection or chronic hepatitis B, accompanied by regular monitoring and appropriate antiviral prophylaxis if necessary.Graphical Abstract

Group Model Building on causes and interventions for falls in Singapore: insights from a systems thinking approach
Falls in older adults are the result of a complex web of interacting causes, that further results in other physical, emotional, and psychological sequelae. A conceptual framework that represents the reciprocal...

Genuine Memory Deficits as Assessed by the Free and Cued Selective Reminding Test (FCSRT) in the Behavioural Variant of Frontotemporal Dementia. A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis Study
AbstractThe current diagnostic criteria for the behavioural variant of frontotemporal dementia (bvFTD) foresee a relative sparing of long-term memory. Although bvFTD patients were thought to report secondary memory deficits associated with prefrontal dysfunctions, some studies indicated the presence of a “genuine memory deficit” related to mesial temporal lobe dysfunctions. Among various neuropsychological tests, the Free and Cue Selective Reminding Test (FCSRT) has been recommended to distinguish genuine from apparent amnesia. We conducted a systematic review and a random effect Bayesian meta-a nalysis to evaluate the...

The Effects of a Web-Based Interactive Nurse Support Program Based on the Health Promotion Model on Healthy Living Behaviors and Self-Efficacy in Patients Who Regained Weight after Bariatric Surgery: A Randomized Controlled Trial
ConclusionIt can be stated that the web-based interactive nurse support program based on HPM is applicable in patients who regain weight after metabolic and bariatric surgery, and it contributes positively to the healthy lifestyle behaviors, BMI, eating behaviors, and general self-efficacy of these patients. In order to ensure the continuity of post-operative patient follow-up, it is recommended to increase the importance of telephone counseling and to establish follow-up program based on the HPM.Graphical Abstract

Outcomes of Holmium Laser, Cryoablation, and Budesonide Inhalation for Treating Severe Central Airway Stenosis in Infants
CONCLUSION: Holmium laser with cryoablation followed by budesonide inhalation therapy safely and effectively cleans stenotic tissues and maintains airway reopening. Balloon dilation after holmium laser is recommended for treating web-like stenosis.PMID:37733404 | DOI:10.1080/08941939.2023.2257792

Preventive effects of 13 different drugs on colorectal cancer: a network meta-analysis
CONCLUSIONS: The preventive effect of allopurinol on CRC was better than that of the other 13 drugs. These results can help doctors and patients understand the preventative effects of these drugs more intuitively and provide an evidence-based basis for the clinical application of these drugs.PMID:37732038 | PMC:PMC10507769 | DOI:10.5114/aoms/167480
