Intrinsic variables associated with low back pain and lumbar spine injury in fast bowlers in cricket: a systematic review
ConclusionInconsistencies in results may be related to differences in study design, injury definitions, participant characteristics, measurement parameters, and statistical analyses. Low back pain and lumbar spine injury occurrence in fast bowlers remain high, and this may be due to an absence of low bias studies that have informed recommendations for their prevention. Future research should employ clearly defined injury outcomes, analyse continuous datasets, utilise models that better represent lumbar kinematics and kinetics during fast bowling, and better quantify previous injury, lumbar anatomical features and lumbar ma...

Glooko Solicitation: What ' s in it for me?
This morning, I received a peculiar email. The email was from my endocrinologist ' s office (well, sort of, it was actually sent fromGlooko). The subject line said " New York Presbyterian Medical Group created a Glooko account for your diabetes data " . I was actually a little creeped-out by it, but because I had a very vague idea of what Glooko actually was, I did not instantly delete it. Still, I have no connection to Glooko (in fact, I have never once given the company my email address, nor have I ever asked them for more information, which means they attained it from my endocrinologist ' s office). Some of the issu...

Reasons, Rewards, and Tips for a More Accessible and Inclusive Web
The following is a guest article by Ben Cash, Founding Partner and CEO at Reason One The end of September marks International Week of the Deaf, followed soon after by Blind Americans Equality Day. Both are reminders of the need to make online resources accessible to all. Supporting this is the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), intended to protect the civil rights of persons with disabilities when it comes to areas like employment, government services, public accommodations, transportation, and telecommunications. For any organization – and particularly healthcare entities and systems – accessibility should...

A systematic review of data elements of computerized physician order entry (CPOE): mapping the data to FHIR
CONCLUSIONS: The results of this study showed that the same data elements were not used in the CPOE systems, and the degree of homogeneity of these systems is limited. The mapping of extracted data with data elements used in the FHIR standard shows the extent to which these systems comply with existing standards. Considering the standards in these systems' design helps developers design more coherent systems that can share data with other systems.PMID:37723918 | DOI:10.1080/17538157.2023.2255285

Scientometric Evaluation of the Itch Mite, < em > Sarcoptes scabiei < /em > (Acari: Sarcoptidae): The Last Four Decades of Global Academic Output on Scabies
CONCLUSION: The majority of the studies were done in a given country while multicenter studies are very rare. It is recommended that more studies should be conducted on scabiosis in developing countries where the problem of scabies is the biggest.PMID:37724367 | DOI:10.4274/tpd.galenos.2023.51423

A bibliometric and knowledge-map analysis of antibody-mediated rejection in kidney transplantation
CONCLUSIONS: North American and European countries/regions played central roles in AMR of kidney transplantation. Importantly, the prognosis of AMR is the hotspot in the future. Noninvasive strategies like plasma and urine dd-cfDNA may be the most potential direction in the AMR field.PMID:37724568 | DOI:10.1080/0886022X.2023.2257804

Emerging insights and global trends in the relationship between selenium and thyroid diseases: A bibliometric analysis
Conclusion: This paper analyzes the current status, insights, and trends of the studies on selenium and thyroid diseases by the method of bibliometrics and delivers ideas and methods for subsequent research in this field. The therapeutic effect of selenium on Hashimoto's thyroiditis is controversial and needs further research, and oxidative stress is also a research hotspot in this field. The cross-study of multiple trace elements and diseases may be the development trend in the future.PMID:37723633 | DOI:10.2174/1871530323666230918121353

Problematic internet use during the COVID-19 pandemic: A systematic review and meta-analysis of prevalence data
CONCLUSION: The PIU prevalence rate during the COVID-19 pandemic in the general population was 7.9%. Measuring the prevalence of PIU remains complicated due to the large methodological and cultural diversity that exists, so global prevalence estimates of PIU vary substantially. More methodologically sound research on psychodiagnostic assessment and cultural variances is required.
