Auditory function in humans at high altitude. A scoping review
ConclusionMost studies reported a reduction of auditory function with HA in terms of either elevation of auditory thresholds, lengthening of AER latencies, reduction of distortion-product and transient-evoked OAEs. Future studies in larger populations, using standardized protocols and multi-technique auditory function evaluation, are needed to further characterize the spatio-temporal pattern of HA effects along the auditory pathways and clarify the pathophysiological implications and reversibility of the observed changes.

Programmed intermittent epidural bolus in maintenance of epidural labor analgesia: a literature review
AbstractProgrammed intermittent epidural bolus (PIEB), administered by the infusion pump programmed to deliver boluses of epidural solution at certain intervals, is gradually gaining more attention as a technique to maintain the labor analgesia in recent years. Many studies find that it may have some advantages when compared with other methods. However, its exact effectiveness and optimal regimen are still unclear. We conducted a literature search in PubMed, Web of Science, and Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews for studies published between January 2010 and June 2022. Of the 263 publications identified, 27 studies we...

Can growing patients with end-stage TMJ pathology be successfully treated with alloplastic temporomandibular joint reconstruction? – A systematic review
ConclusionsClinical experience with alloplastic TMJR in growing patients is limited to cases showing poor prognosis with other types of reconstruction. Nevertheless, studies show promising results for the use of alloplastic TMJR in growing patients, highlighting the need for well-controlled prospective studies with long-term follow-up.

KidneyGPS: a user-friendly web application to help prioritize kidney function genes and variants based on evidence from genome-wide association studies
Genome-wide association studies (GWAS) have identified hundreds of genetic loci associated with kidney function. By combining these findings with post-GWAS information (e.g., statistical fine-mapping to identi...

The application of lasers in vital pulp therapy: a review of histological effects
This study aimed to review the histological results of different dental lasers including low-level lasers, carbon dioxide (CO2), erbium-doped yttrium aluminum garnet laser (Er:YAG), neodymium-doped yttrium aluminum garnet (Nd:YAG), erbium, chromium:yttrium-scandium-gallium-garnet (Er,Cr:YSGG) lasers, and diode lasers for VPT. This focused review included a comprehensive electronic search of Scopus, MEDLINE, Web of Science, and Google Scholar databases from 2000 to 2022 by two independent investigators. Different combinations of keywords were used, and reference mining of related papers was done. The review included studies...

Sensors, Vol. 23, Pages 8014: Generative Adversarial Network (GAN)-Based Autonomous Penetration Testing for Web Applications
Zhao The web application market has shown rapid growth in recent years. The expansion of Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) and the Internet of Things (IoT) has created new web-based communication and sensing frameworks. Current security research utilizes source code analysis and manual exploitation of web applications, to identify security vulnerabilities, such as Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) and SQL Injection, in these emerging fields. The attack samples generated as part of web application penetration testing on sensor networks can be easily blocked, using Web Application Firewalls (WAFs). In this research work, we prop...

The global prevalence of suicidal ideation and suicide attempts among men who have sex with men: a systematic review and meta-analysis
ConclusionConsidering that the prevalence of suicidal ideation and attempts among these people is many times higher than that among men in the general population, developing programs for the prevention of mental disorders with special attention to suicide is necessary for these people. Screening programs are also recommended for early diagnosis and prevention of suicide among these people.

Global trends and hotspots in research on acupuncture for stroke: a bibliometric and visualization analysis
This study aimed to characterize the global publications and analyze the trends of acupuncture for stroke in the past 40  years. We identified 1157 publications from the Web of Science Core Collection. The number of publications grew slowly in the first three decades from 1980 until it started to grow after 2010, with significant growth in 2011–2012 and 2019–2020. China, the USA, and South Korea are the top three countries in this field, and China has formed good internal cooperative relations. Early studies focused on the clinical efficacy of acupuncture for stroke. In the last five years, more emphasis has been plac...

Safety and efficacy of steerable versus non-steerable sheaths for catheter ablation of atrial fibrillation systematic review and meta-analysis
Conclusions Compared with the use of NSS, the use of SS for RF ablation of AF can effectively reduce the recurrence rate of AF and the occurrence of acute PVs reconnection events. However, there is no advantage in shortening the total RF time, fluoroscopy time, total surgical time and reducing complications.

This study aims to develop and validate a PIH prediction model for elderly patients undergoing elective non-cardiac surgery to identify potential PIH in advance and help to take preventive measures. Methods and analysis A total of 938 elderly surgical patients (n=657 for development and internal validation, n=281 for temporal validation) will be continuously recruited at The First Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University in Suzhou, China. The main outcome is PIH during the first 15 min after anaesthesia induction or before skin incision (whichever occurs first). We select candidate predictors based on published literatur...
