Conclusion We are alive at one of the most important times in human history. We face a future that is incredibly uncertain, and that will be shaped, in large part, by people like you and me, as we decide what kind of a world we want to live in. There exists a future of artificial intelligence, rampant inequality and irreversible climate change. But there is also a future of abundance, where technology and good public policy leads to a better life for everyone. If you had the chance to take us back to the future -- to 2045 -- what future would you present? What innovations would your audience marvel at? And when wi...

AmSurg makes $5.3B bid to combine with TeamHealth
(Reuters) — AmSurg proposed a $5.3 billion merger with TeamHealth Holdings Inc as it looks to add heft to its business that provides doctors to hospitals and other healthcare services. AmSurg, which revealed on today that private merger talks with TeamHealth fell through in September, said it had gone public with the offer to persuade TeamHealth “to come back to the table.” TeamHealth, however, swiftly rejected the offer, saying it undervalued the company. The cash-and-stock offer of $71.47 per share represents a premium of 36% to TeamHealth’s closing price yesterday. AmSurg expects that synergies from...

Yesterday I've crossed two borders, closed three ongoing projects with my clients, sealed the deal with a new prospect and was home by dinner to share a cooked together meal with my significant other. I work around 25 hours per week, get a healthy eight-hour sleep, take unscheduled day offs and still manage to get more things done, compared to those days when I was glued to my office desk for 60+ hours weekly. By no means, I am superhuman. Neither I have written all the above to merely show off. You see, being a location independent solopreneur for over a year now, has taught me some valuable lessons about efficiency an...

Google Makes You Think You're Smarter Than You Actually Are
Google puts a nearly infinite amount of knowledge at our fingertips, but a new study says that the search engine isn't making us any smarter. Internet searches give people the illusion of personal knowledge even when they haven't actually gained any, according to research published this week in the Journal of Experimental Psychology. "Unlike looking something up in a book or calling up a friend for the answer to a question, searching the Internet is nearly effortless," Matthew Fisher, a doctoral candidate in psychology at Yale University and the study's lead author, told The Huffington Post in an email.
