SpecialtyCare buys Colorado company
SpecialtyCare, a Nashville-based company that provides outsourced operating room clinical services, will purchase the assets of ProNerve, a Colorado-based intraoperative neuromonitoring (abbreviated IONM) company. The deal, terms of which were not disclosed, makes SpecialtyCare the "clear market leader" in the IONM space, according to a news release. It adds nearly 200 associates and almost 350 customers in 31 states to SpecialtyCare's portfolio, the release says, and increases its IONM services…

WellCare to outsource IT, plans layoffs
Information technology quality assurance for WellCare Health Plans will be outsourced to Accenture, and as a result close to 60 positions at WellCare will be eliminated. That move came last week as Tampa's WellCare notified the state of Florida of its plans for layoffs, according to the Florida Department of Economy Opportunity.
