The influence of explainable vs non-explainable clinical decision support systems on rapid triage decisions: a mixed methods study
CONCLUSIONS: Although overall trust in the models was low, the median (IQR) weight-on-advice was high (0.33 (0.0-0.56)) and in line with published literature on expert advice. In contrast to the hypothesis, weight-on-advice was comparable between the explaining and non-explaining systems. In 30% of cases, weight-on-advice was 0, meaning the physician did not change their rating. The median of the remaining weight-on-advice values was 50%, suggesting that physicians either dismissed the recommendation or employed a "meeting halfway" approach. CONCLUSION: A significant decrease was observed in the rate of IHA positivity during the pandemic period. The status of no increase in positivity rates despite a significant decrease in IHA tests makes us think that the diagnosis may be missed in some patients or that there could be disruptions in their follow-up. A large survey on COVID-19 vaccination in patients with Parkinson's disease and healthy population
CONCLUSIONS: The COVID-19 vaccination rate was remarkably lower in PD patients than healthy individuals in China. The approved vaccines have shown an acceptable safety profile. Evaluation of safety and efficacy of allogeneic adipose tissue-derived mesenchymal stem cells in pediatric bronchiolitis obliterans syndrome (BoS) after allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT)
CONCLUSIONS: AT-MSCs could be safely administered to our pediatric cases with BoS post-allo-HSCT. Considering their advanced stage of disease, their sub-optimal functional capacity due to steroid-induced complications, and COVID-19 infection post-treatment, we believe that AT-MSC therapy can have possible efficacy in the management of pediatric BoS. The conduction of further studies with larger sample sizes and more frequent injections is prudent for further optimization of AT-MSC therapy against BoS.
