Case report of CT-guided lung biopsy complicated by air embolism
Undersea Hyperb Med. 2023 Third Quarter;50(3):273-281.ABSTRACTRATIONALE: Cerebral arterial air embolism is a rare but potentially fatal complication of computed tomography (CT) guided lung biopsy. Hyperbaric oxygen (HBO2) is the first line of treatment for arterial gas embolism and needs to be administered immediately after the event. Early HBO2 can reduce the mortality rate of cerebrovascular air embolism.PATIENT CONCERNS: A 65-year-old woman was diagnosed with a pulmonary nodule with a diameter of approximately 0.8 cm in the right lower lung. The patient developed consciousness, convulsions, and arrhythmia after CT-guide...

Using the Perimeter-Derived Diameter and Ellipticity Index of the Left Atrial Appendage Landing Zone to Predict Watchman Occluder Size
CONCLUSIONS: The longest diameter and the PDD methods predicted occluder size with a high degree of accuracy when the LAAs EI < 1.198; the PDD method is suggested to be a preferred method to treatAF.PMID:37708542

Perceptions of Radiation Safety Culture Among Radiography, Computed Tomography, And Mammography Technologists
CONCLUSION: An analysis of the collaborative actions in the mammography department is needed, and the findings could be applied in radiography and CT to improve perceptions of radiation safety-related teamwork.PMID:37709523

CT-based non-invasive identification of the most common gene mutation status in patients with non-small cell lung cancer
CONCLUSIONS: Our study demonstrates the potential of radiomics in the non-invasive identification of EGFR and KRAS mutation status, which may guide patients with non-small cell lung cancer to choose the most appropriate personalized treatment. This method can be used when biopsy will bring unacceptable risk to patients with NSCLC.PMID:37706584 | DOI:10.1002/mp.16744
