Cancers, Vol. 15, Pages 4686: The Role of the Dysregulation of Long Non-Coding and Circular RNA Expression in Medulloblastoma: A Systematic Review
ldaiturriaga Medulloblastoma (MB) is the most common malignant brain tumor in childhood. Although recent multi-omic studies have led to advances in MB classification, there is still room for improvement with regard to treatment response and survival. Therefore, identification of new and less invasive biomarkers is needed to refine the diagnostic process and to develop more personalized treatment strategies. In this context, non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs) could be useful biomarkers for MB. In this article, we reviewed the role of two types of ncRNAs, long non-coding (lncRNAs) and circular RNAs (circRNAs), as biomarkers for th...

Cancers, Vol. 15, Pages 4685: Role of DNA Methylation Profiles as Potential Biomarkers and Novel Therapeutic Targets in Head and Neck Cancer
t Head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) is the sixth most common cancer worldwide and is associated with high mortality. The main reasons for treatment failure are a low rate of early diagnosis, high relapse rates, and distant metastasis with poor outcomes. These are largely due to a lack of diagnostic, prognostic, and predictive biomarkers in HNSCC. DNA methylation has been demonstrated to play an important role in the pathogenesis of HNSCC, and recent studies have also valued DNA methylation as a potential biomarker in HNSCC. This review summarizes the current knowledge on DNA methylation profiles in HPV-posi...

Cancers, Vol. 15, Pages 4684: Prognostic Factors in Advanced Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer Patients Treated with Immunotherapy
re Gridelli Taking into account the huge epidemiologic impact of lung cancer (in 2020, lung cancer accounted for 2,206,771 of the cases and for 1,796,144 of the cancer-related deaths, representing the second most common cancer in female patients, the most common cancer in male patients, and the second most common cancer in male and female patients) and the current lack of recommendations in terms of prognostic factors for patients selection and management, this article aims to provide an overview of the current landscape in terms of currently available immunotherapy treatments and the most promising assessed prognostic...

Panobinostat (LBH589) combined with AM1241 induces cervical cancer cell apoptosis through autophagy pathway
The study aims to investigate the apoptotic effects of combining LBH589 and AM1241 (a selective CB2 receptor agonist) on cervical cancer cells and elucidating the mechanism of this combined therapy, which may ...

A phase I study of the ceramide nanoliposome in patients with advanced solid tumors
ConclusionsCNL exhibited an encouraging safety profile and pharmacokinetic parameters, with some signals of efficacy including prolonged stable disease in 1 patient with  refractory pancreatic cancer. Pre-clinical data indicate potential synergy between CNL and multiple systemic therapies including chemotherapy, targeted therapy, and immunotherapy. Future studies are planned investigating CNL in combination strategies.Trial registrationThis study is registered under ClinicalTrials.gov ID: NCT02834611.

Natalizumab Treatment Induces Proinflammatory CD4 T Cells Preferentially in the Integrin {beta}7+ Compartment
Discussion Our study shows that circulating integrin β7+ memory CD4 T cells of patients with relapsing-remitting MS under natalizumab are enriched in proinflammatory cells supporting the hypothesis that integrin β7+ memory CD4 T cells could play a pathogenic role in the disease rebound observed at natalizumab discontinuation.

Estimating Remaining Life Expectancy in Veterans with Basal Cell Carcinoma Using an Automated Electronic Health Record Scoring System: A Retrospective Cohort Study
Active surveillance may be considered for low-risk basal cell carcinomas (BCC) in patients with limited life expectancy; however, estimates of life expectancy are not readily available. Veterans Health Administration ’s (VHA) Care Assessment Need (CAN) score may address this problem.

Potential involvement of the bone marrow in experimental Graves ’ disease and thyroid eye disease
ConclusionCollectively, these data indicate that the bone marrow is activated in experimental Graves’ disease and TED, which is prevented by linsitinib. Linsitinib-mediated immune-inhibition is mediated, at least in part, by arginase-1 up-regulation, consumption of arginine and thereby immune inhibition.

Characterisation of common genetic variants in P2RX7 and their contribution to chronic pain conditions
In this study, we first systematically characterized all 17 common nonsynonymous variants using whole-cell patch clamp electrophysiology. Then, we analyzed these variants for statistical association with chronic pain phenotypes using both individual P2RX7 variants as predictors and cumulative allele counts of same-direction cellular effect in univariate models.

Transplant Outcomes of Myelofibrosis with Busulfan and Fludarabine Myeloablative Conditioning
Allogeneic stem cell transplantation (allo-SCT) remains the only curative treatment for patients with intermediate and high-risk myelofibrosis (MF). Notable improvements in survival of patients with MF after allo-SCT have been made over the past two decades, though relapse remains a frequent cause of treatment failure.1, 2 Several prognostic systems have been validated to predict survival in patients with MF,3, 4 including some that have recently incorporated several genetic and mutational markers into their systems.

Urticaria in childhood —what’s new?
AbstractUrticaria can manifest at any age, including infants and young children. Urticaria is one of the most prevalent skin diseases in childhood. As in adults, a  distinction is made between acute and chronic urticaria, with chronic urticaria further classified into chronic spontaneous urticaria and inducible urticaria. According to the current German S3 guideline for classification, diagnosis, and treatment of urticaria, existing literature suggests that the prevalence, disease characteristics, causes, and also the response to treatment are very similar in children and adults. The clinical hallmark of urticaria is the...
