Oncolytic virus oHSV2 combined with PD-1/PD-L1 inhibitors exert antitumor activity by mediating CD4  + T and CD8 + T cell infiltration in the lymphoma tumor microenvironment
Autoimmunity. 2023 Dec;56(1):2259126. doi: 10.1080/08916934.2023.2259126. Epub 2023 Sep 22.ABSTRACTA novel therapeutic regimen showed that the oncolytic type II herpes simplex virus (oHSV2) was able to prevent colorectal cancer growth, recurrence, and metastasis. However, no study has yet explored whether oHSV2 has an impact on the development of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL). We chose the clinical chemotherapeutic drug doxorubicin (DOX) as a positive control to evaluate the effect of oHSV2 infection on the apoptotic, invasive, and proliferative capacity of DLBCL cells. We next further explored the therapeutic effi...

Giant cell lichenoid dermatitis within healed varicella zoster site
Clin Case Rep. 2023 Sep 19;11(9):e7585. doi: 10.1002/ccr3.7585. eCollection 2023 Sep.ABSTRACTThere are dermatoses that arise within healed zosteriform sites, such as granulomas annulare, acneiform eruptions, psoriasis, lichen planus, and giant cell lichenoid dermatitis "GCLD." Nonetheless, graft-versus-host disease should be considered and ruled out, especially in patients post-bone marrow transplant. Herein, we report a case of GCLD manifesting within healed zosteriform sites.PMID:37736473 | PMC:PMC10509341 | DOI:10.1002/ccr3.7585

Activation of PI3K/Akt pathway by G protein ‐coupled receptor 37 promotes resistance to cisplatin‐induced apoptosis in non‐small cell lung cancer
ConclusionsIt was suggested that GPR37 acts a crucial role in promoting the occurrence and development of NSCLC. Knockdown of GPR37 significantly inhibits the occurrence and development of NSCLC. Therefore, our findings demonstrated that GPR37 may represent a viable therapeutic target for NSCLC.

Directional Cell Migration Guided by a Strain Gradient
This work reports directional single cell migration guided by a strain gradient, termed tensotaxis. A programmable uniaxial cell stretch device is developed to establish a continuous strain gradient field without generating a stiffness gradient. Focal adhesion analysis and motor-clutch model demonstrate that tensotaxis is driven by strain-introduced traction force and integrin fibronectin pairs' catch-release dynamics. AbstractStrain gradients widely exist in development and physiological activities. The directional movement of cells is essential for proper cell localization, and directional cell migration in responses to ...

One ‐step production of fully biotinylated and glycosylated human Fc gamma receptors
AbstractInitiating and regulating humoral immunity, Fc gamma receptors (Fc γRs) have been identified both as therapeutics and as drug targets, and thus production of biologically active FcγRs is highly demanded for biopharmaceutical development. Focusing on low-affinity FcγRs IIA (131H/R allotypes), IIB, and IIIA (176F/V), this study used human 293-F cells to achieve co rrect post-translational modifications (PTMs) including biotinylation,N-glycosylation, and disulfides. Approaches involving co-expression of Fc γR-AviTag andEscherichia coli biotin ligase BirA, endoplasmic reticulum retention, stable and transient trans...

Dense dopaminergic innervation of the peri ‐infarct cortex despite dopaminergic cell loss after a pure motor‐cortical stroke in rats
In this study, we assessed the reorganization of dopaminergic innervation of the PIC in a rat model of focal cortical stroke. Our data suggest a sprouting of dopaminergic fibers into the PIC and point to a role for dopaminergic signaling in reparative mechanisms post-stroke, potentially related to recovery. AbstractAfter ischemic stroke, the cortex directly adjacent to the ischemic core (i.e., the peri-infarct cortex, PIC) undergoes plastic changes that facilitate motor recovery. Dopaminergic signaling is thought to support this process. However, ischemic stroke also leads to the remote degeneration of dopaminergic midbrai...

Girl receives UK ’s first kidney transplant without need for lifelong drugs
Aditi Shankar, eight, has pioneering treatment resulting in her body accepting donor kidney as its ownAn eight-year-old girl has been spared from taking lifelong drugs to stop her body rejecting her kidney transplant thanks to a UK-first treatment.Aditi Shankar ’s immune system was “reprogrammed” after a stem cell transplant, resulting in her body accepting a donor kidney as its own, clinicians said.Continue reading...

Use of ropeginterferon in inducing graft versus myelofibrosis effect in post ‐transplant myelofibrosis relapse
JAK2 level and chimerism after ropeginterferon treatment for relapsed myelofibrosis after allogeneic stem cell transplantation. Key Clinical MessageHere, we describe a patient with post-transplant myelofibrosis with chronic graft-versus-host disease (GVHD), who showed successful molecular remission with ropeginterferon with 100% donor chimerism without any flare up of GVHD. He was initially diagnosed with polycythemia vera (PV) which progressed to myelofibrosis after 6  years. The MYSEC (Myelofibrosis Secondary to PV and ET-Prognostic Model) and MTSS (myelofibrosis transplant scoring system) scores were 13.1 and 4, respe...

GSE240232 Stromal-derived NRG1 enables oncogenic KRAS bypass in pancreas cancer
Contributor : Jincheng HanSeries Type : Expression profiling by high throughput sequencingOrganism : Mus musculusActivating KRAS mutations (KRAS*) in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) drive anabolic metabolism and support tumor maintenance. KRAS* inhibitors show initial anti-tumor activity followed by recurrence due to cancer cell intrinsic and immune mediated paracrine mechanisms. Here, we explored the potential role of cancer associated fibroblasts (CAFs) in enabling KRAS* bypass and identified CAF-derived NRG1 activation of cancer cell ERBB2/ERBB3 receptor tyrosine kinases as a mechanism by which KRAS* independent...
