Internalizing and externalizing behaviors in high school adolescents in a northern border city of Mexico and their type of family
CONCLUSIONS: We detected a moderate prevalence of internalizing behaviors in Mexican adolescents, predominantly among women, and also observed that not living with a nuclear family increases the odds of presenting internalizing behaviors. It is important that parents, teachers, and healthcare workers remain vigilant to detect these problems in a timely manner and develop interventions to improve the mental health and well-being of adolescents.PMID:37696116 | DOI:10.1016/j.aprim.2023.102743

Assistive Technology-Based Analysis of Students' Foreign Language Anxiety Using Distributed Machine Learning and Intelligent Affective Computing
J Autism Dev Disord. 2023 Sep 11. doi: 10.1007/s10803-023-06125-0. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTLanguage learning anxiety is one of the most important affective variables affecting the effect of language learning. Sensor technologies involve devices that generate a digital output based on the detection of some physical phenomenon in terms of events or changes in a relevant environment. In this work, we propose an effective computing model. Through the research on the classification of emotions and dimensional space theory, combined with the actual learning emotions of learners in the flipped classroom teaching mode, it pr...

The interplay of physical and cognitive function in rehabilitation of interstitial lung disease patients: a narrative review
CONCLUSIONS: Numerous underlying etiologies of ILD contribute to frailty, skeletal muscle and cognitive function, but their respective neurobiologic mechanisms require further investigation. Exercise training increases physical measures, but complementary approaches may improve their applicability to improve daily activities.PMID:37691666 | PMC:PMC10482628 | DOI:10.21037/jtd-23-209

Relationship between serum Th1/Th2 imbalance and depression in elderly patients with COPD and its clinical implications
CONCLUSION: Elderly patients with COPD and depression had reduced pulmonary function and higher serum Th1/Th2 levels, and an imbalance in serum Th1/Th2 indicators was a potential risk factor for depression. Moreover, elderly patients with COPD and depression were at a higher risk of disease progression and had a worse prognosis. Thus, an imbalance in serum Th1/Th2 indicators is a potential prognostic factor for evaluating depression in patients with COPD.PMID:37694327 | DOI:10.3233/THC-230665

Cognitive predictors of stress-induced mood malleability in depression
CONCLUSIONS: We characterized the relation between cognitive processes and mood malleability in response to stress. Findings could refine theoretical models of depression if causality is established.TRIAL REGISTRATION: ClinicalTrials.gov identifier: NCT04137367.PMID:37695740 | DOI:10.1080/10615806.2023.2255531
