Plasma metanephrines yield fewer false-positive results than urine metanephrines in obstructive sleep apnea patients
CONCLUSION: In OSA patients, plasma metanephrines are less likely to yield false-positive results for the diagnosis of PPGL than 24-hour urinary metanephrines. In patients with suspected OSA, obesity or a family history of hypertension, plasma metanephrines may be the preferred first-line test to avoid unnecessary anxiety or follow-up.PMID:37721483 | DOI:10.1210/clinem/dgad553

Assessing the association between probable posttraumatic stress disorder symptoms and quality of life among emergency service workers using path analysis
CONCLUSION: Active coping in response to stressful situations is important for maintaining good mental health among emergency service workers. Active coping and social support may strengthen resilience, and resilience may improve QOL. Screening for mental health and QOL should include simultaneous assessment of stress-coping, social support, and resilience. Joint effects of prenatal exposure to air pollution and pregnancy-related anxiety on birth weight: A prospective birth cohort study in Ma' anshan, China
CONCLUSION: Using the method of analyzing mixed exposures, we found that during pregnancy, the combined exposure of air pollutants and PrA, particularly during trimester 1, is associated with BWz decrease. Luteolin alleviates depression-like behavior by modulating glycerophospholipid metabolism in the hippocampus and prefrontal cortex of LOD rats
CONCLUSIONS: Our results revealed significant alterations in the glycerophospholipid metabolism pathways in both the hippocampus and prefrontal cortex of LOD rats. Moreover, LUT appears to regulate autophagy disorders by specifically modulating glycerophospholipid metabolism in different brain regions of LOD rats, consequently alleviating depression-like behavior in these animals.PMID:37715585 | DOI:10.1111/cns.14455
