Roles of Immune and Oxidative Stress-Related Factors in the Diagnosis of Coronary Artery Disease: A Retrospective Study
CONCLUSIONS: Bioinformatics analysis technology was used to identify 10 hub DEIOGs that might play a crucial role in CAD progression, and five special hub genes (Fos, Il6, Jun, Mapk3, and Mmp9) could be regarded as potential biomarkers for CAD diagnosis. However, further studies are required to verify the functions of these hub genes.PMID:37691276 | DOI:10.59958/hsf.5799

Molecular complexity of mammary glands development: a review of lactogenic differentiation in epithelial cells
Artif Cells Nanomed Biotechnol. 2023 Dec;51(1):491-508. doi: 10.1080/21691401.2023.2252872.ABSTRACTThe mammary gland is a dynamic organ with various physiological processes like cellular proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis during the pregnancy-lactation-involution cycle. It is essential to understand the molecular changes during the lactogenic differentiation of mammary epithelial cells (MECs, the milk-synthesizing cells). The MECs are organized as luminal milk-secreting cells and basal myoepithelial cells (responsible for milk ejection by contraction) that form the alveoli. The branching morphogenesis and lactog...

Linc00239 Promotes Colorectal Cancer Development via MicroRNA-182-5p/Metadherin Axis
Biochem Genet. 2023 Sep 11. doi: 10.1007/s10528-023-10510-w. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTLong non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) are associated with colorectal cancer (CRC); however, CRC-related linc00239 functions have not been fully elucidated. Prognostic analysis of patients with CRC with linc00239 overexpression was performed using data from The Cancer Genome Atlas database. Cell Counting Kit-8 and Transwell were used to determine linc00239 functions for CRC cells. The lncRNA-miRNA-mRNA interaction network was used to screen target miRNAs and mRNAs regulated by linc00239. Quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction and w...

miRNA-423 rs6505162  and miRNA-6811 rs2292879 SNP Associated with Lung Cancer in Hainan, China
CONCLUSION: The findings of our study indicate a potential decrease in LC risk among smokers with the miRNA-423 rs6505162 variants, while an increase in risk is associated with miRNA-6811 rs2292879 polymorphisms in the population of Southern Chinese. However, further well-designed research is necessary to fully understand the precise impact of these two SNPs on the development of LC.PMID:37694278 | DOI:10.1042/BSR20231152

Expression and function of CCN2-derived circRNAs in chondrocytes
J Cell Commun Signal. 2023 Sep 11. doi: 10.1007/s12079-023-00782-7. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTCellular communication network factor 2 (CCN2) molecules promote endochondral ossification and articular cartilage regeneration, and circular RNAs (circRNAs), which arise from various genes and regulate gene expression by adsorbing miRNAs, are known to be synthesized from CCN2 in human vascular endothelial cells and other types of cells. However, in chondrocytes, not only the function but also the presence of CCN2-derived circRNA remains completely unknown. In the present study, we investigated the expression and function of C...

Potential of miR-181a-5p and miR-630 as clinical biomarkers in NSCLC
CONCLUSIONS: Our findings indicate the miR-181a-5p and miR-630 expression levels have the potential to prognose and predict and therefore improve the treatment individualization and the outcome of NSCLC patients. Circulating miR-181a-5p has the potential clinical value as a non-invasive biomarker for NSCLC.PMID:37697308 | DOI:10.1186/s12885-023-11365-5
