Roles of Immune and Oxidative Stress-Related Factors in the Diagnosis of Coronary Artery Disease: A Retrospective Study
CONCLUSIONS: Bioinformatics analysis technology was used to identify 10 hub DEIOGs that might play a crucial role in CAD progression, and five special hub genes (Fos, Il6, Jun, Mapk3, and Mmp9) could be regarded as potential biomarkers for CAD diagnosis. However, further studies are required to verify the functions of these hub genes.PMID:37691276 | DOI:10.59958/hsf.5799

GSE242513 Real-Time qPCR Array of miRNAs in Leishmania-infected THP-1 macrophages
Contributors : J C Fernandes ; S M Muxel ; L M Floeter-WinterSeries Type : OtherOrganism : Homo sapiensLeishmania amazonensis is a protozoan that primarily infects macrophages and causes cutaneous leishmaniasis in humans. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are small noncoding RNAs that regulate gene expression at posttranscriptional levels. Previous work demonstrated changes in miRNA profile of host cells favoring parasite survivel. Thus, here we demonstrate that human macrophages upregulate several miRNAs on the initial time points of infection, including the hsa-miR-372, hsa-miR-373, and hsa-miR-520d, which present the same seed. Furthe...

LncRNA MALAT1 signaling pathway and clinical applications in overcome on cancers metastasis
AbstractIn spite of its high mortality rate and difficulty in finding a cure, scientific advancements have contributed to a reduction in cancer-related fatalities. Aberrant gene expression during carcinogenesis emphasizes the importance of targeting the signaling networks that control gene expression in cancer treatment. Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs), which are transcribed RNA molecules that play a role in gene expression regulation, are a recent innovative therapeutic approach for diagnosing and treating malignancies. MALAT1, a well-known lncRNA, functions in gene expression, RNA processing, and epigenetic control. High e...

MicroRNA-92b targets tumor suppressor gene FBXW7 in glioblastoma
This study investigated the expression of miR-92b in GBM tumors compared to normal brain tissue samples, revealing a significant upregulation. Inhibition of miR-92b using oligonucleotide microRNA inhibitors (OMIs) suppressed GBM cell growth, migration, and induced apoptosis, while ectopic expression of miR-92b yielded opposite effects. Systemic administration of liposomal-miR92b-OMIs in GBM xenograft mice resulted in reductions in tumor volume and weight. Subsequent experiments identified F-Box and WD Repeat Domain Containing 7 (FBXW7) as a direct target gene of miR-92b in GBM cells.DiscussionFBXW7 acts as a tumor suppress...

Exosome-derived miR-372-5p promotes stemness and metastatic ability of CRC cells by inducing macrophage polarization
In this study, we used miRNA-seq technology to screen out the highly expressed miR-372-5p among the miRNAs differentially expressed in plasma exosomes of clinical CRC patients. It was found that miR-372-5p highly expressed in HCT116 exosomes could be phagocytosed by macrophages and promote their polarization into M2 macrophages by regulating the PTEN/AKT pathway. Meanwhile, co-culture of CRC cells with conditioned medium (CM) of macrophages enhanced the EMT, stemness and metastasis of CRC cells. Mechanistically, CRC cells exosome-derived miR-372-5p induced polarized M2 macrophages to secrete chemokine C-X-C-Motif Ligand 12...

Therapeutic potential of mesenchymal stem cell-derived exosomal miR-296-5p and miR-337-3p in age-related erectile dysfunction via regulating PTEN/PI3K/AKT pathway
Biomed Pharmacother. 2023 Sep 7;167:115449. doi: 10.1016/j.biopha.2023.115449. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTMesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are viewed as an increasingly promising treatment for age-related erectile dysfunction (AED). Owing to the limitations of injecting living cells, the injection of exosomes appears to be a more plausible option. However, whether MSC-derived exosomes (MSC-Exos) improve AED and their potential mechanism remains unknown. MSC-Exos were prepared and injected intracavernously into aged rats to determine their effects on AED. Masson's trichrome staining was used to ascertain the changes in the ...

MicroRNA-143 as a potential tumor suppressor in cancer: An insight into molecular targets and signaling pathways
Pathol Res Pract. 2023 Sep 6;250:154792. doi: 10.1016/j.prp.2023.154792. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTMicroRNAs (MiRNAs), which are highly conserved and small noncoding RNAs, negatively regulate gene expression and influence signaling pathways involved in essential biological activities, including cell proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis, and cell invasion. MiRNAs have received much attention in the past decade due to their significant roles in cancer development. In particular, microRNA-143 (miR-143) is recognized as a tumor suppressor and is downregulated in most cancers. However, it seems that miR-143 is upregula...

Proliferation-promoting roles of linear and circular PVT1 are independent of their ability to bind miRNAs in B-cell lymphoma
Int J Biol Macromol. 2023 Sep 7:126744. doi: 10.1016/j.ijbiomac.2023.126744. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTPlasmacytoma Variant Translocation 1 (PVT1) is a long non-coding RNA located at 8q24.21 immediately downstream of MYC. Both the linear and circular PVT1 transcripts contribute to cancer pathogenesis by binding microRNAs. However, little is known about their roles in B-cell lymphoma. Here we studied their expression patterns, role in growth, and ability to bind miRNAs in B-cell lymphoma. Linear PVT1 transcripts were downregulated in B-cell cell lymphoma lines compared to germinal center B cells, while circPVT1 levels w...

A DNAzyme dual-feedback autocatalytic exponential amplification biocircuit for microRNA imaging in living cells
Biosens Bioelectron. 2023 Sep 7;241:115669. doi: 10.1016/j.bios.2023.115669. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTAutocatalytic biocircuit are powerful tools for analysing intracellular biomarkers, but these tools are constrained by limitations in amplification capacity and intracellular delivery efficiency. In this work, we developed a DNAzyme-based dual-feedback autocatalytic exponential amplification biocircuit sustained by a honeycomb MnO2 nanosponge (EDA2@hMNS) for live-cell imaging of intracellular low-abundance microRNAs (miRNA). The EDA2 biocircuit comprises a blocked DNAzyme (b-DNAzyme), a Fuel strand and a Substrate str...
