An evening and weekend physiotherapy service for patients on an enhanced recovery pathway undergoing a pancreaticoduodenectomy: Acceptability, feasibility and future recommendations.
Background: Patients experience prolonged recovery after pancreaticoduodenectomy (PD) compared to other abdominal procedures due to the extent of the surgical trauma. One of the challenges on the ward is achieving the ERAS mobility targets. The protocol is based on a local upper gastrointestinal standard after an improvement study demonstrated a reduced length of stay when patients were mobilised 4-6 times/day.

Program to improve postoperative recovery in bilioenteric bypasses.
Background: To evaluate the results of the implementation of an ERAS program in biliary tract shunts and to establish the relationship between program compliance and restoration of gastrointestinal function, postoperative stay, reoperations, complications and postoperative readmissions.

From cup to dish: how to make and use endometrial organoid and stromal cultures derived from menstrual fluid
In conclusion, we can isolate both epithelial and stromal cells from a single menstrual fluid sample, allowing us to establish organoids and cells in a paired manner. This protocol can greatly enhance our knowledge of the role of epithelial and stromal cells alone and in coordination.

Extending the utility of anterior corneal buttons through refrigeration and glycerol cryopreservation: utility rate and outcome analysis (see page 1415) Glycerol cryopreservation can safely extend the utility of donor anterior corneal grafts for up to two years. This method not only reduced the wastage of scarce donor corneal tissue but also was cost effective. Clinical course and treatment of archipelago keratitis: a Herpesviridae keratitis subtype (see page 1419) Archipelago keratitis is a Herpesviridae stromal keratitis subtype associated with a high recurrence rate, requiring antiviral and anti-inflammatory drugs over ...

Clinical course and treatment of archipelago keratitis: a Herpesviridae keratitis subtype
Conclusion ApK is a Herpesviridae stromal keratitis that is typically unilateral in presentation and features a high risk of recurrence. Combined treatment with antiviral and anti-inflammatory drugs are usually required over the long term. Topical ciclosporin can be useful as a corticosteroid-sparing treatment.

Sizzling Fat —Curative Endoscopic Resection of a Giant Lipoma Causing Colo-Colic Intussusception
We report the case of a 78  years-old woman with abdominal pain, constipation, and bleeding due to a giant lipoma of the sigmoid colon causing intussusception. After an initial diagnostic colonoscopy, the patient underwent an endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) without complications. Even if surgery is traditionally the prima ry therapeutic approach for giant colonic lipomas, selected cases can be successfully treated with EMR.

Freeze-dried amniotic membrane graft with a spongy layer in bilateral peripheral ulcerative keratitis: a case report
Peripheral ulcerative keratitis (PUK) is a group of inflammatory corneal ulcers with stromal thinning and peripheral localization. Amniotic membranes (AM) are used for their anti-inflammatory and healing prope...

Long-read sequencing reveals the landscape of aberrant alternative splicing and novel therapeutic target in colorectal cancer
ConclusionsThis data provides a rich resource for deeper studies of gastrointestinal malignancies. Newly identified splicing isoformTIMP1 Δ4-5 plays an important role in mediating CRC progression and may be a potential therapy target in CRC.

Novel gene fusion discovery in Spitz tumours and its relevance in diagnostics
We describe a series of four Spitz tumour samples in which distinct gene fusions were detected by hybridisation-based capture NGS (TPM3::ALK, LIMA1::ROS1, LRRFIP2::ROS1 andMYO5A::RET). Two of these fusions are not previously described. All 4 fusions were confirmed by reverse transcription-PCR. These findings demonstrate the need for molecular analysis that can detect unknown fusions in Spitz neoplasms for optimal diagnosis.

Detection of pathogenic variants in breast cancer susceptibility genes in bilateral breast cancer
Conclusion We have shown a high rate of detection of BRCA1 and BRCA2 PVs in triple negative and grade 3 ER+HER2– first primary diagnoses, respectively. High rates of HER2+ were associated with CHEK2 PVs, and women ≤30 years were associated with TP53 PVs. First primary ER status in BRCA1/2 strongly predicts the second tumour will be the same ER status even if unusual for PVs in that gene.

Germline pathogenic SMARCA4 variants in neuroblastoma
Heterozygous germline pathogenic variants (GPVs) in SMARCA4, the gene encoding the ATP-dependent chromatin remodelling protein SMARCA4 (previously known as BRG1), predispose to several rare tumour types, including small cell carcinoma of the ovary, hypercalcaemic type, atypical teratoid and malignant rhabdoid tumour, and uterine sarcoma. The increase in germline testing of SMARCA4 in recent years has revealed putative GPVs affecting SMARCA4 in patients with other cancer types. Here we describe 11 patients with neuroblastoma (NBL), including 4 previously unreported cases, all of whom were found to harbour heterozygous germl...

HPV-Associated Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the Eyelid: Diagnostic Utility of p16 Immunohistochemistry and mRNA In Situ Hybridization
ConclusionThe prevalence of HR-HPV in eyelid SCC is low in Indian patients. HPV-associated SCC may mimic commoner eyelid carcinomas as it lacks overt keratinization. In basaloid-appearing eyelid carcinomas, p16 immunopositivity should be followed by reflex HR-HPV mRNA ISH, as p16 immunohistochemistry alone has low specificity. The prognostic role, if any, of HPV association needs further evaluation.
