Acute angle closure glaucoma misdiagnosed as sinusitis
Pract Neurol. 2023 Sep 7:pn-2023-003864. doi: 10.1136/pn-2023-003864. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTA 69-year-old woman developed severe right suprabulbar pain with blurred right-sided vision. There were no haloes around lights, photophobia, nausea or vomiting. Investigations in the emergency department excluded a posterior communicating/internal carotid artery aneurysm. Chromatic Pupillometry - a New Technique for Assessing Function in Glaucoma?
Klin Monbl Augenheilkd. 2023 Sep 7. doi: 10.1055/a-2130-0546. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTChromatic pupillometry allows quantification of photoreceptor-driven (extrinsic) and melanopsin-driven (intrinsic) responses of the intrinsic-photosensitive retinal ganglion cells (ipRGCs). This small subpopulation of retinal ganglion cells is also affected by glaucoma, making chromatic pupillometry a potential diagnostic tool. Studies show reduced phasic and tonic responses in glaucoma patients. The diagnostic value in earlier studies depended on the technical details and the study design. The purpose of this article is to give an ...

COMfort Eye Trial (COMET) results - a non-inferiority, randomized, investigator-masked, two-parallel group, phase III clinical trial, to evaluate the efficacy and safety of a preservative free formulation of latanoprost versus a reference drug (Xalatan ®) in patients with primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG) or ocular hypertension (OHT)
CONCLUSIONS: YSLT eye drops demonstrated non-inferiority to latanoprost in reducing IOP. Both products were well tolerated without serious TEAEs reported.PMID:37674345 | DOI:10.1080/14740338.2023.2252341
